Gargi College is one of the best colleges to study in Delhi University. It comes in Top 10 women's college of DU and has one of the best rankings otherwise as well whether it is NIRF, It provides a range of courses across the fields of Humanities, Science and Commerce. It is located in the South Campus. It has one of the best infrastructure and facilities available for the students.

I did my graduation in social science - History. For us at that time, there were no entrances for academic courses. Rather there were cut offs that one had to get in class 12. However, professional courses had entrances. The academic course structure was very well-structured and scheduled. For all courses, there was a proper timetable, attendance, tests and assignments. One can easily manage studies and other extracurricular activities together.

The History department had really good faculty overall. Majority of the teachers taught us really well since they were themselves so much experienced and knowledgeable. They were easily approachable and understood the students' plight. Each of the teacher's background was really strong where they did their PhD from the top universities in our country and that was seen in their teaching as well. Their notes were excellent too as it helped us structure our course and prepare us for the exams in a better manner.

Again, Gargi College placement cell is very active. There is a group of representatives amongst the students themselves who would share all the news and details of new job opportunities. These opportunities were shared via class representatives for each course. In our time, there were job opportunities for everyone irrespective of the course. One has to keep a lookout for good opportunities as and when these news were shared. There are a variety of companies that turn up for placements in Gargi College. There are a wide range of jobs as well as specific job vacancies pertaining to a certain course. Internships are also available. To know more about such opportunities, one can always reach out to the placement cell for more guidance.

Gargi College does not have any hostel. But one can opt to stay in PG or flat, whichever is comfortable for the student. As for the PGs, they were right across the street in Anand Lok or Gulmohar Park or near South Extension or Lajpat Nagar. There is a PG nearby for every budget and most of them were near to the college. I would say that one should review the PG like the kind of stay, the food arrangements, security etc. before going for it so that one is comfortable and there are no hassles.

The infrastructure was undoubtedly excellent. All kinds of facilities were provided whether academic related or non-academic related. Sports ground, the auditorium were huge. Otherwise also, the library, classrooms, the labs, cafeterias were a lot spacious. The building structure is such that many spots of college were good places to hang out. For canteen, there were some good food options while others were just okay. The Nescafe area was the best place to hangout, chill and eat. The Nescafe stall has good food options. Coffee, maggi, rolls, pizza sandwich, patties were the common food items that we loved. The garden area and the area outside auditorium were also good places to sit study or chill with friends.

The campus life was really fun and it helped to develop my personality overall. There are a lot of opportunities available at the college to participate and learn new things. Gargi's Fest - Reverie has always been on par bringing the best of talents to perform and make the whole fest a lot more exciting. Every academic department also has its own fest like History Department has its own fest by the name 'Antaraal'. One thing I must say that do take part in societies which means different hobby clubs. It really shapes your personality and gives you a lot of exposure to the outside world that one cannot get within the academics. One also gets to meet renowned personalities whether part of academic programs or societies' program. It is always good to be engaged in extracurricular activities or internships as it broadens your mind and increases your productivity. And yes, it fetches extra points in placement interviews as well.
