Forensic is a 5 year integrated course which provides us with both bachelors and master's degree. NFSU is the only college solely dedicated to forensic sciences in the whole world. It also not only teaches but also provides training to higher government officials. This college has made many inventions like the mobile forensic van which are used by the police officials during real crime scenes. IT also has a wide variety of courses for all arts commerce and science students. The laboratories have instruments which solely dedicated to forensic testing which other labs in other countries might not have. Many students from around the world also come here for training so it is also good in maintaining international relations which would further help in securing seats for students who want go out for further studies in abroad. There are 4-5 campuses in India in states like Gujarat, Delhi, Tripura, and Goa.

This is a 5 year integrated course which provides master degree also. For enrollment there is entrance test which you have to clear known as NFAT. You can apply for this on the college website itself. Unfortunately this course is only eligible for students who have taken science in their 11-12 (group A & B both). There are 10 semesters in total. Each semester contains different subjects which are completely different from previous ones. Students who have cleared high school can apply. The exam is held online majorly but can differ according to university updates. After the exam is held, an email for counseling I sent to the registered email in about 25-20 days. During counseling students are given choices to choose their location of campus on the basis of their 12th percentage. The choice of the student with higher percentage is preferred. During counseling students are requested to bring a DD of 60000 rupees with them and if any student is minor they have to bring their parents with an undertaking application. The fee structure is thus provided which (newest) is 60000 (for 1st and 10th semester) and 50500 (for 2nd to 9th semester). Total cost is 524000. After counseling there is a 3 day orientation done after which the course begins. The application form for entrance exam release in June - July and by mid august you are already enrolled in the college and your course starts. There is also MBA courses in our college.

Faculties are well educated with Ph.D being their minimum qualification. They have a vast well of knowledge about many subjects. They are easy to reach out to for both personal and academic problems. They behave like a friend and mentor. Most of faculties are from India but there also guest lecturers who come from out of country like Canada to teach or start their programs. They are also easily accessible. The real time scientific officers also teach about their experience in this field, which tells us more about the practical aspect of this course. They mend their teaching styles according to the student’s preference. There is no language barriers as the faculties are well versed with all the languages required for teaching. They also initiate in student fund activities and provide their full support.

Now about the placements if you ask this is a little tricky. Our college is divided into three schools majorly Behavioral Sciences, Forensic Sciences and Cyber Security. The cyber cell as being the technical cell has more placement opportunities and companies coming compared to other schools. One could easily get a job in any forensic lab after completing their master and if they have experience they can also sit for director’s position. Internship facilities are less as we get all practical knowledge in college itself. Most students do their Ph.D or go for UGC NET. The average package in our college is 2-5 lacs. There is a placement cell present which answers all your queries and do call companies to our college.

Yes Hostel is provided in the college but it has its own fee structure. As I do NIT, I reside in college hostel I don't know much about the fee structure but it is roughly about 1-2 lacs per year including mess. There are restrictions which are flexible after taking to authorities (10 pm entry time). There are options available for AC and Non AC rooms as well. Students after 2 years have to move out as new students are coming. The catering in mess is not affiliated with college so if you have any complaint about it you cannot do it to college. Please do visit the hostel and ask the managers to get a better view on it. And yes there are both girls and boys hostel inside the premises itself.

NFSU has the architectural design which is spread up to 50000 sq/meters. There are 3 schools: SBS (School of Behavioral sciences) SFS (School of Forensic Sciences) and Cyber Department, all these schools have their own buildings. There is a building for humanitarian department also. There is another building of Narcotics Department where all the testing’s done. Because there are real life cases being solved there is high level of protection. But if students want to access they may do so after asking the faculty. There is a 2 floor library provided. The classrooms have smart boards and projectors and are up to date with new technology. A single Classroom has min. 2 ACs and maximum 4-5 AC according to the class size. All the rooms are centrally air conditioned, eco-friendly & green campus, amphitheater, gymnasium huge playground (not so huge), cafeteria, Medical room and a mental health department is also present. A world class underground Ballistic Research Centre, an intelligent laboratory and an ultramodern mini auditorium and an upper auditorium is also present.

This college is populated with students from all over the world. South Indian population is rather more than other groups but all the students do mingle with each other. We have a large population of international students which provides the students a rather greater approach in understanding other countries and their culture. Up to 1-3 events are regularly held monthly. The three schools have their own week and competitions where students from other schools can also participate. There are events like Hackathon, Evidence hunt, tantrika and etc. which makes us prone to more practical studies rather than bookish knowledge. During sports week we get to interact with students from other colleges and during educational visits also.
