Kurukshetra University B.Sc Review By Yogesh Kumar

It started when I was attempting for my NEET exam for the 3rd time, I scored 523 in 2022 which was not enough to get admission in any college for MBBS but 3 months before exam I scored 600+ so I didn’t had any choice and that's why I skipped CUET. After NEET I was disappointed from my score and thought to apply for Kurukshetra University as for safe side and being in general category I didn't get admission anywhere. My journey of graduation begins from here. Overall, the experience in this university is good. But, I personally don't recommend this university for B.Sc because there is not enough teaching staff and proper schedule for classes.

I was initially got admission in B.Sc Life science with three subjects (Zoology, Botany and Biotechnology) but under NEP scheme in 2nd year they offered Honours course for Botany and Zoology. Therefore, I later changed to Zoology Hons. To get admission here in general category, you need minimum 93-94% in 12th board. My motive for zoology Honours was that I need zoology for my optional subject in UPSC.

In Zoology Department the HOD is Dr. Parmesh Kumar and Assistant professor is Dr. Sarita Rana. There are only 2 faculty members. I must say Dr. Sarita is very much strict and her way of teaching like you feel you are studying in school and Dr. Parmesh as being HOD always busy, your maximum classes will got skipped. But beside these there are some Ph.D scholars also.

There is no placement cell working here right now. After graduation you are free and do what you want next.

I'm living in Bheem Hostel and it's a decent hostel you will be pleased with good and healthy food with salads etc. Hostel staff is also very friendly. Hostel is open 24/7 you don't need to ask for permission to go outside hostel at night; you are free all the day. Hostel’s infrastructure is somewhat old but you will enjoy company with your friends here. In summer if you want a cooler you will have to pay 600 per room extra charges. Hostel rooms are in sharing with minimum 2 and maximum 3. Per person mess charges are 3100-3800 and one time hostel fee 12000 per year in which you will get refund of 3 thousand at the time of check out.

University’s infrastructure is well maintained and they spend a lot of money to maintain all. There is central library which is accessible to all the students of University and every department has its own library instead. If I have to judge infrastructure I will rate it as 8.5/10. There is lot of greenery in the campus, you will observe a diverse variety of plants here and a large play ground for other activities. There is also a tourist activity in the DHAROHAR in University campus which is made to show Haryanvi culture.

Campus life is good. Every year University conducts a fest for few days known as RATNAWALI. In these days you get some enjoy full activities here like you will observe Haryanvi culture, drama, dance and other things related.
