Government Medical College MBBS Review By Gaurav Gunwant

As I belong to Kaladhungi which is near to Haldwani gives me good advantage to go with this college. It is the top college in Uttarakhand that's why my first choice is Haldwani medical college. As per now I am in third year and everything is going very smoothly no pressure from outside or from senior. There is good and healthy environment for sure and a lot of stuff is there to learn.

The course basically teaches us about medicine and surgery. For entry in the medical college first of all the student should be 12 pass with minimum 60 percent for general category and after that he have to qualify NEET UG examination. The cut off is available online. I always wanted to cure people and help them that are why I have joined this course.

The faculty members are also doctors who are highly qualified in their field. Most of the faculty members are here since the opening of college and have a very good experience. Every professor has their own teaching style most of them use power point presentation and others use chalk and board. Basically one can learn better in the clinics for which they have to go to the college hospital.

There is no such placement. After doing MBBS you have to apply to different hospital for jobs and it's easy to get a job in hospital after interview.

Hostel is nice and divided in 4 buildings for boys. Boy’s hostel first is for only first year students in which they have to share the room. Boy’s hostel 2 is for 2 year and 3 year student which is also double sharing. For 3 year students it is only for half year and after that they are shifted to boys hostel 3 in which there is single sharing room. After completing MBBS and during time of internship students move to interns hostel which is also single sharing.

Non clinical academics block are inside the campus and near the hostel. It takes almost 5 minute to reach the academic cell from hostel. There are two gates of college one is Rampur gate which is near library and another gate is near the hostel. On entering form the library side there is first academic block then physiology department and after that anatomy department and within there is biochemistry department and going further there is cafeteria and near that there is forensic medicine and community medicine department and pharmacology department. A little far from there is microbiology and pathology department and other clinical departments are in hospital which is about 1 km from the hostel.

As per my own experience my college life is very good and going smoothly. Campus Life is very cool and you can go anywhere in the campus. There are parks and a big playground where you can play and near that there is gym and indoor sports complex. The campus is not much crowded about 1000 people live in the campus including faculty and students. There are few clubs in the campus like poetry club, dance club and dog lover club you can join any club according to your wish. Last year fest also happened named Aarambh. There are lots of engaging activities in the campus which you will definitely enjoy.
