College Of Engineering Trivandrum is one of the finest engineering colleges of the state. It is ranked after NIT Calicut and IIT Palakkad. The college provides balance between cultural activities and academic concerns. The college gives required facilities for academics like labs, libraries, seminar halls, computer centers etc. It organises 2 fests in a year consisting of technical workshops and cultural programs by popular artists. The campus is very green and provides healthy atmosphere. The college offers decent placements and internship opportunities.

The admission to college is made from Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination. Only the students up to rank 3000 are admitted in the college which shows the selection of most brilliant heads from the state. Outside Kerala, Students can also apply using Prime Minister Schemes. The college provides admission to different courses like Computer Science, Electronics And Communications, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The college also makes sure that each student who wishes to secure placements shall be considered and provides with decent one.

The faculty of this college is very qualified and has completed their higher studies from reputed institutes like IIT, NITs, etc. They are highly experienced in their field and also help the students by making them understand concepts crystal clear. The teachers are also dedicated to students and complete their portions and also held extra classes to complete the portions. Even though some teachers rush to complete their syllabus. But most of the teachers make the concepts understandable.

The college provides decent placements .They provide placements averages to 8 LPA and the highest placement can go up to 30 LPA. The students also get internship opportunities and some of the students get pre placement offers. The college also conducts placement workshops to make sure that students prepare for their interview. The students gets placed to industries like Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Intel, Microsoft, etc.

The college has hostel for both boys and girls. It provides stay and food at very affordable rates. The college hostel has decent quality of food and also wide variety of cuisines. They also have feast during special days. The hostel’s day programs are also held annually. The hostel has also facilities like gym, library, play area, etc. There is no noticeable ragging like experience reported in the hostel.

The college was built around 1939 therefore; the building is pretty old. But the college has done recent renovations. The college has large number of classrooms and all of them are nearly smart classes and Wi-Fi access which provides fast internet connectivity. The college has department libraries and main library which provides books for both departments as well as for general purposes. Labs are advanced which makes the students study concepts through practical expertise

The campus has area of about 125 acres and makes the atmosphere lively to make the students’ mind healthy. The college often conducts different fest for each department and also for the whole college. The events are done by professionals and bollywood industry. The college also has political parties which helps the students to reach out to the political wings if and when required. The campus is not too crowded due to its vast space and different regional fests are also celebrated.
