Review on IMU KC

Overall Rating
Indian maritime University, Kolkata campus is one of the best marine colleges in India. This college has the highest placements as compared to any other marine colleges in India. In this Marine field we can get high packages from both Indian and foreign companies. When I decided to study Marine Engineering course many suggested this college so I can get good placement in this field.
 

Academics Rating
This course (Marine Engineering) contains all the marine related subjects such as IC engine, fluid mechanics, naval architecture, etc. To join this college, you have to clear IMUCET examination with good rank. There will be nearly 270 seats allotted for cadets with good rank. This college also contains biggest workshop in Asia with many equipments related to marine field.
 

Faculty Rating
This college has a good faculty with good teaching skills and also experienced in marine field. Many faculty members are pass-out of this college who has experience in sailing. We can learn working on machinery and its conditions in workshops.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, placement cell helps students to get better placement. It also has good contacts with many big companies for placement.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel facility is in good condition, food, and residency. There will be a inspection for 2 times a day to count the cadets present in the hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are 2 academic blocks called new academic building and old academic building. The classes will be conducted on both new and old academic building. Classrooms contain air conditioners and a good environment to conduct classes. It also has a big library which contains all the types of marine related books for learning.
 

Campus Rating
For academics there will be 2 semesters per year with nearly 1 month holidays between the semesters. There will be 2 internals per semester and final exam. There will be nearly 7 sections per batch and each section contains nearly 40 cadets. There will be fest called TEMPEST conducted every year in February - March.

    One of the best colleges in Asia for Marine engineering studies. It has been more than 75 years since this college started. Since then this college has provided one of the best marine engineers in the world.     I joined this campus in 2021 to become a marine engineer. It was suggested by a lot of industry professionals. This is one of the oldest Maritime training institutions with the campus situated at Taratala, Kolkata with a wide range of 33 acre campus with the latest infrastructure.
