Detailed review of Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Kolkata

Overall Rating
One of the best colleges in Asia for Marine engineering studies. It has been more than 75 years since this college started. Since then this college has provided one of the best marine engineers in the world. There are other colleges and institute providing the same course but the difference is the discipline that is rarely found in other institutes.
 

Academics Rating
Person interested to join this college must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12th and secure more than 65% with English as a subject. Anybody who wishes to join Merchant Navy and want to choose sailing as a career can join this college. This college provides Bachelor's in technology for Marine Engineering.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty of these includes pass outs, which seal through out there life, knows what the hardship on board ship. Faculty knows what is required to be out there in the sea and face hardship on board ship.
 

Placement Rating
Placement of Batches of 2019 to 2020 was more the 97 percent.
 

Hostel Rating
There are separate hostel for each year. And separate mess for each batch.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Recently constructed new academic building has full air conditioned class rooms. And new boy’s hostel is also constructed with 370 seater hostel. College is residential. A library is also recently constructed with 150 seats with more the 50,000 resources, books and magazines. Newly Inaugurated Cafeteria for providing refreshments to the cadets. Facilities for swimming pool and gymnastics are also available in the college.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is fully isolated from the external world. Cadet can focus to build their career. Playing grounds helps to overall physical development of cadet and motivating them to be focus toward their goals in their life. Separate gym for each year help cadets to develop physic and overall personality.

    Indian maritime University, Kolkata campus is one of the best marine colleges in India. This college has the highest placements as compared to any other marine colleges in India. In this Marine field we can get high packages from both Indian and foreign companies.     I joined this campus in 2021 to become a marine engineer. It was suggested by a lot of industry professionals. This is one of the oldest Maritime training institutions with the campus situated at Taratala, Kolkata with a wide range of 33 acre campus with the latest infrastructure.
