Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneswar is a national level teacher training institute functioning under National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It got a dimmed to be University status recently on NCERT foundation day 2023 and was established in the year 1963. Since then, it has been maintaining its legacy as one of the best teacher training institute of the country. To me it was a dream come true moment when I got admitted to the institute in the year 2023. My friends used to call it the IIT OR AIIMS for the teachers. And as of now, I have completed my 1st year as a student teacher in B.A. B.Ed. The overall experience till now has been wonderful. The institute is best in all the aspects like infrastructure, campus life, sports facilities including both indoor and outdoor facilities, open gym, temple inside, 5 hostels (4 for girls and 1 for boys), 24×7 security and most importantly the academics and the top notch faculties who share a cool vibe with the students. Even inside the campus it has a school named demonstrative multi-purpose school (D.M school), which gives quality education to the students from nursery to 12th Std. What made me choose this particular institute is its brand value, alumni, faculties, teaching and training procedure, campus facilities and vibes, 100% placement with good packages and the exposure it gives. Getting admission into the college is made through a common entrance examination where the meritorious students from 12 States (Odisha, west Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Sikkim, Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh) and a union territory (Andaman and Nicobar Islands) gets opportunity to train themselves as a student teacher. So, one who is looking for a future in teaching career should choose this college for the kind of facilities and education it gives. One will get a unique experience of knowing different diversified culture and traditions of the nation as it admits students from different regions of the country. Hence, this institute stands best for those who want to excel their career in teaching.

Specifically, Regional institute of education, Bhubaneswar provides 4 different courses including B.A, B.Ed, B.Sc, and B.Ed (PCM, CBZ) which are 4 year integrated teacher training programs and 2 year Programs for B.Ed and M.Ed. Getting admission into this institute is made through a common entrance examination i.e. RIECEE and the final score of their previous course done. The common entrance examination is a 160 marks examination (each question carrying 2 marks) where students are examined for 3 different subjects’ i.e. English, teaching aptitude and reasoning. 60% from their CEE score and 40% from their score of previous course done is considered for admission. The institute reveals a merit list as well as waiting list based on its structure for different states and union territory. Entry requirements include 60% marks in each subject one is interested to enroll in. Again, for admission 1st priority will be given to selected candidates and if they are found to be absent in the counseling process then chances will be given to the waiting list candidates based on the vacancy. The college provides national level facilities, advanced labs, seminar rooms, common rooms, open gyms, world class sports facilities including indoor facility, air conditioned library consisting 100000 books, beautiful gardens, a huge campus to roam and especially the hostels. The main attraction of the college will be the students across different regions of the country. The college also provides extension lecture and activities with prominent dignitaries of the country as well as dignitaries from outside the country. The College organises literary competition, sports and games (every month), cultural fest and annual night every year. Thus, the college stands best for the students aspiring to become a teacher.

Faculties here are damn cool and friendly. Most of the faculties are well qualified and graduated from renowned institutions like IIT, JNU, and DU etc. There are around 65 faculty members in the institute. All have a great depth in their particular subject. Professors of the institute are polite, sincere and dedicated to their work. They prefer experiential learning rather than lecture only. Students are taught in a very different manner using audio visual aids, GDs, technological devices (including smart board and projectors) etc.

Regional Institute of Education has its own separate placement cell. It provides almost 100% campus placement to the student teachers in different national and international schools. It provides a good level of package as like 5-7LPA. Hence, RIE has been providing good opportunities to each and every student of the college to get a high paying job and get settled.

As the college admits students across the country, it provides world class hostel facilities. The college has 5 hostels inside campus having 300 student capacities in each hostel. Hostels are provided 24×7 electricity, water supply, Wi-Fi, Free accessible smart TV and many more. H.B hostel and Laxmibai hostel are the prominent hostels of the institute. The hostels of the institute are provided with badminton and volleyball courts for the students to chill out. Hostel also organises literary and cultural activities almost every week. The hostels are funded to organise their own hostel fests, dj nights and other events. Overall, hostels of RIE are damn good related to others.

Regional Institute of Education, BBSR has a huge academic set up. The academic building has 3 separate blocks for different courses and the offices. It has bridges that connects each of its blocks with another. The academic block has principal's office, DESM office, DESSH office, Department of extension, and Department of education. It has given separate chambers to each and every professor. It has around 30-33 classrooms , 10 labs ,2 conference hall , two auditoriums, a huge building for library having around 100000 books ,reading rooms, gardens and many more. Apart from the academic block the college also provides quarters to each of its teaching and non teaching staffs. The college has a huge football ground, cricket field, 3 volleyball courts, basketball court, world class tennis court, indoor badminton and Table Tennis courts, carom room, music room, spaces for E- sports and mobile gaming etc.

The college campus is spread across 100 acres of land. It has 5 hostels (4 for girls and 1 for boys) and separate quarters for each of its teaching and no teaching staffs. The campus is full lush greenery, well connected roads, street light and security guards. Campus life of RIE can be compared to the campus life in the IITs and IIMs. It organises literary activities, sports and games, cultural activities almost every month. It also invites prominent personalities to the institute for extension lectures and different activities. It also organises cultural fest and annual night every year.
