Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology MCA Review By Rakshana Noora

I joined this institute for my bachelor studies in 2019. Due to covid period, I couldn't analyze anything when I was in my online classes. That's why I joined my master's in the same college once again. My overall experience from this university is good the campus area is neat and clean and the infrastructure is amazing. And the course curriculum and teaching method were excellent and I want others to join for a better development of their knowledge.

I chose MCA because this course is related to the computer field and development field. The entry requirements to join this course are one should complete their bachelor's in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Commerce, and Business Administration. Also, their eligibility is to score above 60% CGPA in bachelors. The motive is to gain knowledge of today's computing trends, its needs and benefits.

In our department, 20+ faculties are working here. Some faculty's teaching method was very easy and understandable to learn. But they always give assignments in the last working days that make it hard for us to complete it on time.

Yeah, placement cells are available at our institute. Actually, in my point of view, 20+ companies visited our institute for recruitment. The companies were offering a good salary package and are also in a nearby location. Here total of 60% of students were placed in their respective companies and it helps students to acquire jobs. If we need any help, they are always ready to do it. Also, some students don't have the interest to join the company.

Yes, there are hostels available for both boys and girls at separate campus. I'm not a hosteller but I have my hostel friends there. They said that in their hostel, two or three students use to stay in each room and there were some facilities for washing clothes, bathing and restroom. The hostel mess is also clean and neat and each has their own utensils to eat. Once in a week, they provide non-vegetarian foods to hostellers. Sometimes the food is good, but sometimes not good. In every year, they conducted hostel day to encourage hostellers with their extra talents.

We have three blocks there. One is the technology block where the engineering, biotechnology, mechanic, civil, electronics, and business administration students study. The second one is Periyar Knowledge Block, where the students in the computer science field study. And lastly architecture block. There are two canteens in our institute. The food was good. Also sports facilities and grounds are available there for playing games after classes.

The campus life was satisfying to me because the campus is neat and clean. And the crowd is about 7000 students and they were interested in gaining knowledge. There are 10 clubs in our institute to encourage the student's talents and their activities. Also here only two events are conducted per year PEACE function and Pongal function. Then symposium is conducted from every department per month. Sports meet is also conducted here.
