Pillai College Pros and Cons

Overall Rating
Personally, I feel a little bored in college at times but I still wouldn't want to miss a day. The college is fun along with studies. Attendance is 75% necessary. I would suggest anyone who wants to gain knowledge and have a fun experience to join Pillai College. College is convenient to get to.
 

Academics Rating
For Computer Science branch CET score >90 percentile is required. For the first year we learned C and Java programming language. No idea for the criteria of boards. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, practical skills, and interdisciplinary learning. College is meeting its mission to provide high-quality education and support to its students, with a commitment to continuous improvement and academic excellence.
 

Faculty Rating
We have faculties who are very educated, knowledgeable, and experienced. They are very helpful and understandable with good communication. A few are friendly and fun. They are experts in their fields, passionate about teaching and mentoring students. Faculty members balance their time between delivering lectures, conducting research, and participating in academic committees.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, but the placements aren't very good.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, hostel life is fun except the mess food.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There is a shortage of reference books in library during exams and campus is clean except for the washrooms. The canteen is not big enough. The classrooms and library are non AC. The labs are AC. Many computers don't work properly even during the exams and practicals. The building and exterior is fine.
 

Campus Rating
Crowd is energetic, diverse with a different background, a little unprofessional, and has a prevalent motive of wanting money and knowledge. Fests such as Alegria are a must to go to. Architecture of the college is a okay but it's fun to roam around. There's a blend of casual hangouts, intense study sessions, and spontaneous fun, all contributing to a lively and spirited campus environment.

  • Good infrastructure and encouraging staff
     

    Overall Rating
    The college is well equipped with good Infrastructure and cleanliness. It is now an Autonomous college, so it mainly focuses on Project Based Learning which helps students to develop different types of skills. College encourages students to take part in every extracurricular activity like sports. Campus is good and properly maintained.     The college is average with above average facilities. I recommend this college only after you've exhausted all your other options and can't get into one as the cutoffs are very competitive in nature.     My experience so far has been very good. Apart from studies, there are several extracurricular activities that keep students active. There are many clubs, societies and events that make the college fun and interesting. The college's proximity to the station makes travel easy for students.     Pillai College of Engineering has a vast campus and a very good social network. The academic autonomous status of the college is the main thing that attracted me to the college.
