NIT Agartala is an autonomous institution working under central government in East India in Tripura state. It is one of the best engineering institutes in India. I have joined NIT Agartala in 2023. My experience with NIT Agartala is great. I chose NIT Agartala to get admission in the department of Chemistry. I was selected in a couple of other NITs for maths and physics but I was only interested in Chemistry. So I joined NIT Agartala.

The B.Sc-B.Ed provided by NIT Agartala is a 4 year integrated course with Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics as primary disciplines. The total intake is 50. The seats are split; Chemistry-15, Physics-15, and Mathematics-20. The selection to the course is based on NCET scores. The minimum eligibility is intermediate with minimum 50% mark. Students who have satisfied the requirements can apply for the course. This course is highly recommended for students who are passionate about teaching. I joined this course to become a teacher. For those who are not interested in teaching, this course will give the worst experience.

The faculty members of NIT Agartala are mostly from north east and most of them are Ph.D holders from the best universities. Most of the teachers are IIT, NIT graduates. The faculty members’ number varies depending on the department. Each faculty members gives keen attention to students. Each teacher has their own teaching style and methods. The classes are conducted in both online and offline modes.

Yes, NIT Agartala has a Placement Cell. Every year more than 93% of students are placed with average salary of 12 LPA. Others mostly opt for higher studies. The companies offering placements are Google, Infosys, HP, Bharat Petroleum, Tata, and more. The students have to go through placement drives conducted by companies in the institutions. The students can choose the companies according to their interests.

NIT Agartala has separate hostels for boys and girls within the campus. With total capacity of 4000. Boys’ hostels are RNT and Aryabhatta with total capacity of 3500 and girls’ hostel is Gargi with capacity of 500. In RNT we have first year and third year students along with residential facilities. Along with hostel facilities, we have separate housing inside the campus.

The institute is spread over 400 acres of land. The buildings are spread throughout the 400 acres and there are 3 main entrances to institution. The academic block is easily accessible through all 3 gates. Within the institution we have a shopping complex. Each department has a separate building. We also have library and sports complex.

The life in NIT Agartala is good. Institution has many clubs who perform different kinds of activities. In NIT Agartala, we have cultural fest Molsha, tech fest Aayam, and many other festivals too. Within the campus we have a shopping complex with limited facilities. Institution has a huge library with over 70000 books. Even though campus life is awesome, the city very far from the campus.
