I am from Ranchi, so considering my rank and all other factors; it was the best available choice for me to choose BIT Mesra. My session started in September 2023, initially in 1st month we have to go for SIP (student induction program) every day after first half classes where we get information regarding various clubs, college placements, academics, and various things. Overall, it was a satisfactory experience and our first semester ended in December and second in April. We have to complete syllabus in a short period of time. There is 75% attendance criterion which is strictly followed.

For getting admission in BIT Mesra, you have to appear in JEE mains and should have 75% in boards. After this, you have to register for JOSAA and CSAB counselling. In JOSAA, there are six rounds and after that, seats which are left are filled in CSAB which has two rounds. So, you can fill your choices according to your rank and previous year cutoff.

Almost all professors have Ph.D degrees and have done their M.Tech and Ph.D from IITs. Coming to their teaching style, some are good but some are not that good and also, it varies from person to person; whether they them like or not. There are total five modules in each subject in end semester exams, questions come from all five modules.

In the last year of college, students become eligible for their campus placements. Most of the companies visiting NITs and IITs come here too. In CS, about 20 LPA is the average package and for ECE and EE, it goes around 15 LPA and for mechanical and chemical, it goes around 10.5 LPA.

In first year, hostels are decent; there will be two persons in one room. Rooms are decent and bathrooms are also good but coming to the mess, in my personal experience, I didn't like it that much.

BIT Mesra’s infrastructure is good. Academic building is well maintained and all classrooms are air conditioned. Most of the classes are held in academic building and some classes are held in lecture hall (LH) which is also good. There is one R & D building where there are CS and software labs and also, there is GP Birla auditorium where all functions and SIP are held. Also, a sports complex is there.

Campus is filled with greenery; there are lots of trees. Campus is spread across 780 acres there are 11 hostels for boys and 3 for girls. There is IC arena, outer CC, and techno for shopping. There are various clubs; you can join any club according to your interest. All clubs take their recruitment tests and select according to that .Two main fest are held; one is Pantheon which is the tech fest and another is Bitotsav which is the annual cultural fest. One will definitely enjoy this fest as it is a grand fest and various events are also held in these four days. Popular singers and bands come to college.
