MCKV Institute of Engineering B.Tech Review By Tuhin Kumar Singharoy

The college is an average college if you look from overall perspective. It's located near to Liluah station at walking distance of about 10 minutes and beside MCKV Vidyapeeth School. It's an autonomous college under MAKAKUT, it is UGC and NAAC accredited. The college is equipped with awesome labs and big classrooms. The faculty is overall average. It does conduct fests (Cultural Fests & Technical Fest).

Semester is conducted twice a year. So, 4 years and 8 semesters are there. In between semesters, we have to give 4 CA (class assessment) and 2 PCA (practical assessment). All the exams are conducted within a time frame and also, results are announced on time. To pass you just need to get 5.9 GPA and also at end of two semesters, you need to fulfill minimum of 25 MAR point which is mandatory for all. The teachers in class teach well and do check your active participation by asking questions.

The faculty is overall average. The professors of basic sciences and other departments are Ph.D holders; they are alumni of top colleges in India like IITs, JUs, IIEST, and many more and take active participation in research fields. Teachers do teach well in classes and labs and check our performance actively.

From the college website and social media posts made from the college’s side, the placement lies between 93% to 97% generally. Students not only get placed in IT industry but also in business and marketing fields. Many students who achieve high packages get them through off-campus placements and also many students opt for GATE. Our college does have great rank holders this year in 2024. But due to current recession in the job market, the placement is low this year. If you only depend on college for placement it's not going to be enough, you have to have upgrade yourself as per latest technology by taking courses outside or online as per your choice.

Hostel is located just beside the Liluah Station. It has lift and other good facilities.

The college campus is just 6 acres; a small football ground is shared between both school and college where football and volleyball are played on daily basis. A big basketball pitch is available for everyone to play daily. The college is divided into three different blocks (A, B, and C). Block A consists of classes and labs for basic science department, CSE, CSE (AIML), CSE (DS), and IT departments. Block B consists of labs and classes for EE, ECE, ME, AUE (one whole floor is equipped with advanced tools for AUE and ME), M.Tech, and many more. Block C is equipped with workshop classes. The college has a huge auditorium named Malay Manch which is fully equipped with AC, where prize distribution and big events take place for both college and school. We do have a canteen just before Block C and mainly vegetarian food, soft drinks, chinese food, ice creams, and chips are available there.

Campus life in the college is good. We have good and interactive seniors who help us when we need help. Teachers also actively participate in maintaining a good campus life for us. College has an anti ragging cell where they deal with any sort of ragging matters and usually no one encounters such problems. There are many students so the college is crowded and especially during exam time it's overcrowded. Our college has a gym which is not open majority of the times and basketball court is always busy. Our college conducts intra-college sports competitions like cricket, football, tug of war, basketball, and many more. The major two events of our college are Utopia (Cultural Fest) and Pragati (Tech Fest); we as students actively participate and enjoy these fests. There are also many clubs like Rotaract club of MCKVIE, Risers club, Startup club, Greenovation club, Heritage club, and Mathematics club; they conduct amazing events from time to time. So, I should say the campus life is good.
