Realistic Review of Sitamarhi Institute of Technology

Overall Rating
Engineering has been very fascinating for me since the beginning and my keen interest in new technology and creating new things has helped me choose this profession and this college. It offers engineering degree at a very low fee structure, that is, around 30000rs for four years. This college is a state government college and AICTE approved, so the degree of this college is authentic and reliable. That’s why I chose this institute.
 

Academics Rating
This college comes under Bihar Engineering University and offers different branches for engineering, even with specialisations. Some branches are CS, CS specialisation, civil, civil specialisation, mechanical, and electrical. One can get admission in this college through JEE score or through BCECE examination. One has to score good marks so that they can apply for admission in this college. You can apply through UGEAC portal to get admission in this college.
 

Faculty Rating
All faculties are very supportive and available for students whenever they need help. Talking about their educational background, all of them have cleared BPSC state level teaching exam and have very in-depth knowledge of their subjects. Also, some are researchers and IIT/NIT graduates. They use different methodology to teach and smart boards to visualise the concept.
 

Placement Rating
This college has its Startup Cell which promotes students for self startup rather than placements; however, companies like Academor, Vidyamandir, Byju’s, and TCS visit here to hire students for different job roles. Some of them are web developer, business sales executive officer, students mentor, etc. The highest package offered last year was 14 LPA and average package is around 3-4 LPA. It's all about students’ own potential.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel life in this college is very average. There are different buildings for each student year. The boys’ hostels and girls’ hostels are separate and are at some distance. There are 3 boys’ hostels and 2 girls’ hostels. The price of accommodation in hostel is 7800rs for one semester and one can get a room allotted by requesting the principal. There are 3 students in each room and each one of them gets separate beds and study tables.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Talking about infrastructure of the college, it is average. There are so many buildings for different purposes. Some are reserved for academic purposes, library, and some are reserved for residences. There is a playground inside the college and mini ground inside hostels. There is also a small lake where often local people go for fishing. So it's overall a decent place for nature loving people.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is just okay. It's not that exciting and also not that bad. Inside the campus, there is a playground to play games, canteen to enjoy evening snacks, and libraries for group study. The competition among students enhances professional skills. It's unfortunate that no tech fests and cultural fests are organised inside the college. Except that, everything is good.
