Life at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi

Overall Rating
Banaras Hindu University is one of the most reputed universities. They have a huge campus along with many facilities. It is among one of the biggest universities in Asia. They give admissions in PG courses through CUET PG. Campus is full of greenery and has a peaceful environment. They provide free medical facilities to students and there are free bus services in the campus.
 

Academics Rating
For getting admission in MA psychology, one has to go through CUET PG. They will give admission based on the scores of CUET PG. Cutoff last year was around 250 for general category. One should have completed graduation in any course with at least 50 percent marks. Course curriculum is relevant and they also provide practical exposure.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is so good and supportive. They help students with their problems and provide every possible solution. Professors are well qualified and experienced. We are taught by professors and assistant professors both. Professors are always available for clearing doubts of students after class also. Their way of teaching is impressive.
 

Placement Rating
They do not provide any particular in-campus placements for MA psychology course but they do provide placements for some courses in psychology department like MPMIR. But professors keep us informed about recent and upcoming internship opportunities.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel of BHU is cheap and the best. They do provide decent food. For female students, they do not allot hostels to everyone because they have a smaller number of hostels for female students. But in case of male students, every student gets a hostel allotted. Every needed facility is provided for students in the hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure of the campus is quite good. They have a huge campus with a lot of departments. They have a huge central library which is available for every student and they have books of almost every department. One can do self study here because it a quiet and peaceful environment. They do have a student health centre which provides free medical facilities to students.
 

Campus Rating
Overall, campus life is good here. If someone is looking for a calm and peaceful campus life, then this is the best choice for them. They organise an annual fest named ‘Kashiyatra’ which is specifically organized by IIT BHU. Other than this, they have different clubs. Like in psychology department, we have a club named ‘PsyConnect’ which is based on mental health awareness and exposure to various fields of psychology.

    As we all are aware that Banaras Hindu University is globally recognized university and one the prestigious university in India. The most important thing in making it so is the Academics part. As a student of Commerce department in BHU, I can tell you about my department only. Though it's not the best but I can confidently say that our faculty can easily make into top 10 institutes for Commerce students in India, especially for the B.com (Hons.).     The great legacy of the university known as Banaras Hindu University. It is one of the best University in Asia and the largest residential too. My college was Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and I chose it due to the fact that it had an excellent reputation and it had one of the most important things called a PG quota which helps a lot in future PG exams as well....     BHU ranks 5th in India's top central university while Institute of Agricultural Sciences ranks 4th in top agriculture and allied sector. Agriculture has much scope and BHU gives the opportunity to explore this field. Government jobs, corporate jobs, banking, research and many opportunities are offered to the students of at BHU.
