Overview of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela

Overall Rating
After JEE Mains, I was searching for colleges with good rankings, decent placement statistics, and a good enjoyable campus life. NIT Rourkela has all of that. It provides good education and infrastructure and also conducts 4-5 fests in an academic year. The hostels are also pretty decent. The academics are also pretty good. Overall, it is a good college that I would recommend.
 

Academics Rating
Academics here are more than decent. The institute provides good faculty but as usual, there are some exceptions. There is a credit based system with central evaluation of answer sheets in exams. The entry is through JEE Mains. I am pursuing electronics and communication engineering as I had particular interest in it.
 

Faculty Rating
Most of the faculty is good. But like every other college, there are exceptions for sure. Some faculty members are not that great. Every branch has a faculty advisor who can interfere in case there is any conflict or problem. The faculty advisor is responsible for delivering all the messages to the students.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels in the campus are pretty good. They are clean, well-maintained, and regular disinfection occurs. The food though, is not that good and needs to be better.
 

Infrastructure Rating
College infrastructure is very good. The campus is pretty old so there are some old style buildings too. There are constant renovations going on in the campus. The class rooms are air conditioned and are huge. The academic area is pretty big and has a large building for each group apart from the lecture halls. The hostels are also pretty good.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life in NIT Rourkela is probably the best you can find in NITs. There are 80+ plus clubs ranging from technical, film, music, and sports societies. The institute conducts four fests per academic year. ‘Innovision’ the tech fest is in November, ‘Cosmopolitan’ the multiethnic fest is in January, ‘Nitrutsav’ the cultural fest is in February, and celebrity night is in March.

Everything is great here including food, education, hostel, extracurricular activities and many more.     National Institute of Technology Rourkela is one of the premiere institutes in India for B.Tech courses and Engineering. Its NIRF ranking is also better than some of the most prestigious institutes in India. The institute is best for research studies. It has a huge campus which is spread across an area of 1,200 acres.     Institute is very good. It's a nice place to explore yourself. There are all courses available, whatever a student wants to enroll in. The college is good at academics and also in other fields like sports, quiz, etc. Many students are part of the Institute. The cxampus is spread in 600+ acres of land.
