Review of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak

Overall Rating
My college life was very good. It is the best university that provides you with every opportunity that a student wants. The main attraction of this university is the large size of the campus (622 acres) and also the campus is ranked 1st in cleanliness rating. It has every facility including cricket stadium, swimming pool, athletic track, squash court, tennis court, volleyball, kabaddi, basketball, and many more. Being a sports person, this university was my first choice.
 

Academics Rating
The 5 year integrated M.Sc mathematics (honours) program is a dual degree course which, if you want, you can exit after 3 years, and get the graduation degree. For admission into this course, you need to have mathematics as a subject in 12th class. The university conducts an entrance exam and its form can be filled from the official university website itself. I wanted to become a teacher of mathematics so that's the reason which motivated me to join this course.
 

Faculty Rating
Each class in the university has 60 students and all the faculties teaching here are professors and assistant professors. They all have completed their Ph.D in their respective fields. Their teaching method is good. Each teacher takes 4 lectures of 1 hour each in 1 week per subject. The department also has 3 computer labs, one library, conference room, and one multipurpose hall.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the university has a Placement Cell. The Placement Cell conducts various placement drives every week that help the students get their dream job. The placement rate is more than 50 percent and average package is 6 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
The university has residential facilities for students as well as teachers. I had no residential facility because I was a day scholar. Hostel and mess facility is very good. For students, there are 10 boys’ and 10 girls’ hostels including one hostel for foreign students. Each hostel has the capacity to accommodate 240 students and each hostel has its own mess, rest area, computer lab, and discussion room.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is spread in huge area (622 acres) there are different academic blocks for different subjects and also other buildings like Swami Vivekanada library, reading halls, university secretariat, Pariksha Sadan, swimming pool, Yog Shala, rose garden, cricket stadium, athletic track, gymnasium hall, faculty development center, Tagore auditorium, Radha Krishanan auditorium, and many more.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life was very good. There are a number of student unions that help the students if anyone has a problem. Some groups are ABVP (Akhil Bhartiya Vikas Parishad), NSUI (National Student Union of India), INSO (Indian National Students Organisation), and some other groups too. Various fests are conducted here from time to time including Holi fest, Rang Bahar, induction programme, sportech event, youth fest, cultural events, and many more.

    My overall experience of my graduation from Maharishi Dayanand University is excellent, and I am satisfied with the type of education and facilities provided by the campus. The education level of the University is also A1. It is a NAAC A++ graded university. You can get admission through your JEE mains ranking, and you need to fill the form from the Maharishi Dayanand University website.   • MDU has a very poor management

    If you don’t want to play with your career then don’t join MDU. The staff is poor and for management I have no words. Even the exam papers are not checked wisely one can only expect 40-50% accuracy. What’s the point in joining such a university? For BCA only 40% of students can complete the degree on time and the rest take at least a year extra. Not even half the students complete their degrees on time.
