Review of Shibpur Dinobundhoo College, Howrah

Overall Rating
I had a good time in this college and I don't regret my decision of joining it. I got to meet amazing new friends, make unforgettable memories, and gained some invaluable knowledge in the process. Overall, I'd say if anyone is looking to join a good college in Howrah that requires negligible fees, is close to Kolkata, and very convenient to travel to, they should consider Dinabandhu Institution.
 

Academics Rating
Students can apply for this college after completing their higher secondary from any reputed board. The application form is available straight on the college website and once you have filled out your form, they'll release the shortlist of potential candidates who are willing to join the college. So, it's a very stress free, easy process. My motive for joining my botany degree was to learn more about the biology of the plants that we see every day.
 

Faculty Rating
I had good experience learning from all the faculties in our college. Their teaching style is engaging and most of them have a Ph.D degree. Also, there are enough practical classes to accommodate the practical exams that are associated with our course. One thing I can say is that the classes aren't regular and the college can be improved in that regard.
 

Placement Rating
There is no Placement Cell at our college.
 

Hostel Rating
There are no hostel facilities available in our college.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of this college is mediocre. It is quite big in size, although, the inside of this college is not very attractive. For a college of its status, it definitely leaves much to be desired. There is a college library available. There is a playground inside our college itself but that is quite small in size so not much can be done there and the campus size is also not very big.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life of this college is once again alright, not something mind-blowing and not below the standards as well. Fests and other engagement activities are organised here but since I’m from the covid batch, we didn't have much of a campus life for the first two years. Overall, it's good not great and it can definitely be improved.

    Overall I had a fun experience in college as I took admission during the height of COVID it was enough for me to get the degree that I wanted. Many things that influenced my decision to get admission in this college were the easy admission process, very low fees, and easy travel access.     Shibpur Dinobundhoo College which was established in 1948 is one of the famous colleges of Howrah district. The college has been providing a lot of facilities for the meritorious students who are not able to get opportunities because of financial disability etc. since 1948.
