Review of Vidyasagar College For Women, Kolkata

Overall Rating
Good placement opportunities are provided to the students of VCFW. A well-maintained college with all the necessary and required facilities. Students from all over West Bengal are accepted and welcomed into the college. Exams are conducted regularly in college for better practice. Hostel rooms are provided to the desired students. Vidyasagar College for Women is located in Central Kolkata from where all forms of transport are available.
 

Academics Rating
Vidyasagar College for Women is under Calcutta University so VCFW closely follows the syllabus and curriculum set by Calcutta University. Exams are conducted within the college internally before the external exams conducted by CU. Seminars, talks by visitors, workshops, and conferences are often organised.
 

Faculty Rating
Amazing faculty and faculty members. Professors are highly qualified and trained. They are really helpful. They provide their valuable assistance and guidance whenever needed. Our assistant professor Dr. Sugoto Gupta is an active member of the West Bengal Mathematics Association. Exam and doubt-clearing sessions are arranged.
 

Placement Rating
Good placement opportunities are provided to the students of VCFW. The average package given to students is 1,20,000 annually.
 

Hostel Rating
The college hostel is located near the college. Rooms are provided to the desired students. Mess food is average. Hygiene is not maintained. Most of students living in college hostel suffered from Dengue during the monsoon season in Kolkata.
 

Infrastructure Rating
VCFW campus has all the necessary and required facilities. Vidyasagar College for Women provides a well-maintained library (both a common library accessible to all students and a department library for department students only), a well-maintained computer lab, and a maths lab with a good Wi-Fi connection. Rooms in the college hostel are also provided to desired students.
 

Campus Rating
Vidyasagar College for Women is located in Central Kolkata from where all forms of transport are available. College Street (boi para) is just 5 mins walking distance from our college. Vidyasagar College for Women has a very active Student Union. Every year annual college fest and annual sports are organised by the student union council at the end of each academic year. VCFW also celebrated Republic Day, Saraswati Puja, and Independence Day at college.

It was established in 1960 but the college started its journey in 1931 when an individual women section of Vidyasagar College was started to educate the women of our society.
