Currently I am pursuing my bachelor degree in mechanical engineering (lateral entry). Here I will guide you through the description of this university. This university is govt. aided university and managed by state government of West Bengal. This university is located at new town area of Kolkata near north 24 parganas district. I will share some pros and cons with you which you can keep in mind during selection of this university.

1st of all talking about the entry requirements of this university as I am pursuing my bachelor degree of mechanical engineering through lateral entry. Means directly admission into 2nd year 3rd semester. For this your key requirements are you should have completed your diploma engineering degree from recognized board university as eligibility criteria and after that you have to participate into AUAT (Aliah University Entrance Test) held per year. Generally forms releases in March or April every year and entrance exam held in June or July in which you have to secure good rank so you can get admission here. Some seat are allocated for WBJLET (I must clarify one thing here there is maximum seat available through AUAT exam and 2, 3 seat only through WBJELET).

Most of our faculties are well qualified and experienced. Some of them are IITians. They teach well. They are quite friendly too. Talking about background of teacher, most of them have Ph.D in their field from reputed universities and most of our faculties are alumni of jadhavpur university. They explain topics in English to English and English to Bengali and English to Hindi medium. If you are non Bengali student you have to adjust somehow.

If you came here with high expectation regarding placement you got definitely disappointed because placement culture here is not so well. I am not saying there is no campus placement but not many companies visits here. If you are lucky enough you can get chance to get placement chance of outside the country as recently one of our college student get placed in a German company with a healthy package of 50 LPA.

There is hostel facility in our institute, but if you are getting admission through lateral entry it is very difficult to get hostel accommodation. Hostel infrastructure are above excellent but with limited seats. Despite of that you can get affordable accommodation nearby university.

Coming to college infrastructure it is the best part of this university building is huge academic building have many rooms available for classes and tutorials. In the right and left block of this university there is classroom and in central block there is administration block and all departments are in separate floor of the university. There are greenery parks and football playground are available and indoor games are also available.

Talking about overall campus life here campus life is joyful and eventful during weekdays campus is crowdy and you can get the vibe of college life. There are different clubs of students. Every year college cultural fest are organised and fest are really refreshing as after getting admission in this university I got an opportunity to attend my college cultural fest and enjoyed a lot in generally happens in November. There is tech fest also organised every year during January to February in which tech and research enthusiast of different courses and discipline compete for 1st prize.
