Review of National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal

Overall Rating
I got to this institute through JEE mains exam for engineering purpose. I think this is the best institute in Karnataka. Its NIRF ranking is also somewhere around 12. The people who write JEE exam know the importance of this institute. The college is wonderful nice infrastructure and this is the only NIT with their own private beach. Also college conducts many fests and all which keeps you busy in enjoying.
 

Academics Rating
I am enrolled in B.Tech course. I am from electrical and electronics engineering branch. It’s a quite good branch. People say it is tough but people from our branch score 10 CGPA. You can get into this college through JEE mains exam which you should write when you are 12th. This is the best college for engineering in Karnataka.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is pretty good but as you know in engineering you have to do all by yourself. You should search for information and read on your own. Self study is what everyone does in engineering. Students don't depend on faculty too much as all the materials and information needed is available online these days. The faculty members are pretty good. They are from prestigious institutes. They have many years of experience of teaching.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, we have on campus placements. Many companies come for hiring people from this college. The placement percentage is also very good. Almost all the students get placement.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have hostels. There are around 8-9 hostels for boys and around 5-6 hostels for girls. Most of the students in this institute are hostellers. Some of the hostels are very bad like 1st year you get very bad hostel and 2nd years also. But in 3rd and 4th year you get pretty good hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college has almost around 300 acres of campus which is pretty good. We have our own private beach. There are 2 libraries central library which is open till 5:30 evening and e-library which is open till night 1. Each department has their own building. There are 3-4 buildings for lecturing purposes. We have 2 sports complexes. We have a basketball court, volleyball ground, and also a beautiful student’s activities centre.
 

Campus Rating
Campus Life is pretty amazing as you have nice infrastructure, nice faculty, and you can also make good friends and it contains students from all over India. Countries most intelligent people come in this college. You can grow your knowledge. You can have most of the fun in the hostel. You can also go to beaches whenever bored.

    I am studying at Nation Institute of Technology, Surathkal, Karnataka. As I am here for 2 months, I am experiencing a very good culture, nature, and infrastructure here. Students come here from all over the India as this college is one of top 5 NITs. I chose this particular college because of its environment and all other things like faculties and all.
