Review of National Institute of Technology, Patna

Overall Rating
This was the best choice at my JEE rank of 2022 as I wanted CS that time. This college was the nearest NIT from my home as it is my home state also. There was the hype of its high placements during that year. It is not that good but not that bad also. If one wants the NIT Tag then it is one of best choices.
 

Academics Rating
Eligibility is same as any other NIT. Some specific criteria and a decent JEE rank. In first year of academic one thing that is different from other is that they teach some cores from 1st semester in core branches and CS students don't have to study civil/mechanical basics. Labs are not that good as equipment are getting old and old without any update. Attendance criteria are very strict about 75% and some faculties are very serious about it.
 

Faculty Rating
Some faculties are very good at teaching and some are not. Some are very serious about the attendance and very few are not. So it depends on the luck of one who gets whom. Faculties are good and very well qualified at least on the papers. Some actually try to put efforts for the students and some just want to become hard on student without any big reason.
 

Placement Rating
Placements were very good till 2022 but after that I think market itself went on downgrade. Coming to campus placements few companies come with very good CTC but they only select the best students considering all the field. Companies still come for Internship and Placements in campus. Our college has very good percentage of placements.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is good and some are bad. So it depends on the luck. 1st year gets a small room with bigger no. of sharing and 2nd year gets good hostels if they are core branch. This is true for its old campus. But I think it will be changed ones it shifts to Bhita Campus.
 

Infrastructure Rating
It has a very small campus but all the necessary facilities are available inside the campus. Having a small campus has its own advantage as it is in the main city. So there is very much place to eat and to explore nearby. It is going to shift to the new campus soon which is situated in ruler area with entire new campus which is very big in size around 130 acres.
 

Campus Rating
College has a good no. of clubs but most of them are dead. Some of them are very good for the learning. Sports and other events also happen time to time and some good activities also happen with time. But due to the workload of academics with its attendance policy it becomes hectic for the students to become active regularly in these activity.

    Just like most of the students, I also love my institute. In NIT Patna, you get the promised cultural mix and get to meet people from all over the country. The infrastructure is good and up-to-date. Faculty and curriculum is good.   • Pursue Excellence at NIT Patna

    The overall college is good, but the campus is little, small, it is about 40 acres. But no worries in the campus we have a playground, indoor games like badminton, table tennis, squash. Even in the campus we have the Gym, which are separate fir boys and girls. Our Campus is located near the bank of River Ganga, so every Sunday we can go and the watch the Ganga Aarti....   • NIT Patna campus placement is very good

    NIT Patna offers B.Tech 4 years and integrated B.Tech + M.Tech 5 years program in different branches. The admission to institute can be secured through JEE Mains examination. The faculties here are very well qualified with much of research and teaching experience. The curriculum is also updated and is according to the National Education Policy in which you can exit the program with a certificate in any of the years.
