College life at SASTRA

Overall Rating
The overall experience is not too good and not too bad. As I have a good IPE and JEE score I got into this college. This college is too good for placements but students who want to lead a happy college life, this is a not place for you.
 

Academics Rating
Academics here are good enough. But as all other colleges and our education system, the syllabus is outdated and revised only sometimes. There is more theoretical knowledge than the practical ones. Most of students study for marks and placements. And some of the faculties don’t teach practical stuff as they are not asked in the exams.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties over here are good. Some of them are too conservative. Some of them are very strict and vice versa. Some have very good knowledge on the subject and teaches well, but some of them lack proper knowledge and don't teach properly.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are good enough here. Almost everyone get placed in some or the other company. Most of the students come here only for placements.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are not too good. We have to adjust. The space provided is okay. Mess food is not too good. It is manageable. And no non-vegetarian food is provided. Sometimes different kinds of insects come into rooms. So we have to adjust for all these kind of stuff.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is very good in the college. Mainly in computer science block it is too good compared to other blocks. Library is so good actually. Some labs are good enough. But some of them are not updated. Some components don't work in the final labs which is not good at all. And coming to hostel infrastructure, it is okay.
 

Campus Rating
The expectations of campus life can't be reached in this college. It mainly focuses on academics. Cultural fests are not up to the expectations. That part really sucks. And rules for girls here are exhausting. They don't have permission to go for self outing whenever they need. They allow only once in a month. And have to come to hostel by 6.30 and so on.

    My overall experience about this university is good. The first day I went to this university, I felt it is a big university. This university offers admissions to the students based on the board exams which are conducted by respective State boards. The institute has very good infrastructure.     Overall Rating
    I have chosen this university as it takes both the JEE score and 12th score in to the account of admission. The campus is reputedly marked for its placement opportunities and it stands unique in some of the aspects. It provides a huge support in research areas too.
