To be honest, I took admission here due to my low rank in JEE Mains and average rank i.e. 7095 in WBJEE (due to which I got this college in counseling). Overall, this is an "OKAYISH" kind of college. Placements are good. Apart from that, there is nothing interesting or different here. Overall, I would suggest that if you aren't getting any other good college, then TMSL is an average private college with average fee structure.

Primarily, the CSE and IT department of this college are good & worth it. The syllabus followed here is as per the parent University - MAKAUT, which feels a bit outdated than other colleges' curriculum. You have to practice coding on your own. The selection process is through WBJEE or JEE MAINS. Rank below 7k in WBJEE and 95 percentile is considered good for your seat allotment in the counseling rounds for general category. From 1st to 3rd year, there is a burden of studies from college but in the final year, you have full time to focus on yourself & your placement. However, it is better to start preparing for placements from 3rd year onwards.

Faculty is below average. It is suggested not to depend on the college faculty for your growth. YouTube is always the best option to study for self skill upliftment as well as for endsem exams. Some teachers are really helpful and take interest in teaching but most of them aren't. Apart from that, some teachers are toxic and they tend to affect our semester scores (in practical mostly). So it is advised to be careful of such teachers.

The only thing I like about this college is its good placement. Before recession times, the placement was like 90%. However, currently in 2024, placement scenario isn't that good but still better than other private colleges. A point to be noted is that the average salary is just around 3-4 LPA for a fresher. But still, for an average student like me, it is decent. You can further enhance your skills and switch companies.

No hostel facility is provided. You can stay in nearby PGs or take a flat with your friends. Since no hostel is present, ragging on campus is negligible.

It is just an 8-storey building with a tiny ground attached to it. It is present in sector 5, Salt Lake where all major IT companies are present. The campus can be compared to that of a school. Other infrastructural requirements like computer labs, proper sanitation facilities, etc are good. However, only the labs are air-conditioned and not the classrooms. Overall, it has mediocre infrastructure. Don't expect much from it.

Since the campus is small, campus life is also not that good. There are some fests and DJ nights held in the ground. Medium-level celebrities and stand-up comedians also give their performance here, but you can't compare it with government colleges or other expensive private colleges. In conclusion, campus life is somewhat average in my opinion. Not that good but not that boring too.
