My University Experience and insights

Overall Rating
My enduring interest in this field has been the driving force behind my academic journey, culminating in to this Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the University of Engineering and Management, IEM-UEM Kolkata since it was one of the best Universities in Kolkata. Witnessing the ever-increasing scope and demand for technological solutions has only intensified my passion to join this course and it also has good research opportunities.
 

Academics Rating
Course entry requirements are that you should have a minimum 80% in 10th and 75% in the 12th and better to write IEMJEE and get a good rank. While every course intrigued me, I discovered a profound affinity for Software Engineering, Database Management, Operating systems, Data Structures, and algorithms AI-ML. This academic exploration of my bachelor's, where my unwavering interest in technology translated into a commendable 9.49 CGPA to get into real-world technology is my main motive to enroll in Computer science.
 

Faculty Rating
Our faculty is well-rounded Ph.D postgraduates. There teaching was so good. My favorite three faculty are Prof. Sankhadeep Chatterjee Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science &Technology University of Engineering &Management and teaches Machine learning and Logical Regressions, Prof. Dr. Maumita Chakraborty she was Professor and HOD of the Department of Computer Science and Technology and Dr. Prasenjit Kumar Das he was an Assistant Professor at, the Department of Computer Science and Technology.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a placement cell in the college. I think placement cell plays a crucial role in making students sustain in the crowd and grab the placements in the layoffs time and get good packages.
 

Hostel Rating
Residential facilities are not there. In-campus housing is not there. Outside the campus, university will provide housing for boys and girls which were a drawback I personally feel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The quality of the hostel is decent, and the quality of food in the mess and canteen is very good. We have three building blocks and so many classrooms I don't know the exact number and a basketball court.
 

Campus Rating
Ups and downs, hardships it was a beautiful experience one should feel and learn from the insights. But we will definitely miss our friends and faculty after leaving the campus. So I will say engineering will teach you everything to handle in your life and sustain yourself so I proudly say I am an engineer.

    To be honest, I chose UEMK because I couldn't get into IEM Salt Lake, which is the main campus of our university. My JEE result was also not up to the mark, so I couldn't opt for government colleges. Also, I didn't want to go too far in the South or North.     When I took admission in this college in 2021, the placement rate of this college was very good. More than 250 students were placed during the COVID period with an average of 2 job offers per student. So I took admission in the college. When I initially visited this institute it looked great.     University of Engineering and Management is a self affiliated college which provides both under graduate and post graduate courses to students on Engineering and Management. I am currently an MCA student at UEM. I got admission to UEM via an entrance exam named JECA. I chose MCA because I had deep interest in coding since my high school.   • UEM is a darling to me

    University of Engineering and Management Kolkata had a lot to offer when I went through the prospectus and realized that it all seemed rosy on paper. However, students like me, who had done their research well also, knew what the students would get to experience. When I contacted some of the College seniors, I got a mixed response.   • Placement Strategies with UEM Kolkata is Setting New Benchmark

    I got admission to the University of Engineering and Management in 2019. IEM-UEM group founded this engineering institution in 2015 and each year, the placement record is improving. Although this is a private engineering college, students can explore multiple options like campus placement, higher study, or competitive exams with a mentor's guidance.
