Review of Punjabi University, Patiala

Overall Rating
I would like to give honest review regarding the same. The experience was both positive along with negativities. Although staff is supporting helps in every means. You will become confident as you are being provided with the opportunities to expose your skills through regular presentations, seminars, and in theoretical aspect with tests in between. On the negative side is mostly on infrastructure and funds.
 

Academics Rating
I enrolled myself in bachelors of commerce course although due to covid-19 mostly was online. But the best part was supporting and friendly staff they will help accordingly. But the difficult part is at entry level at the time of enrolling a lot of time is invested like filling form, then giving entrance exam, waiting for list, and counselling session. Eligibility for any course is just secondary education.
 

Faculty Rating
Teachers here are mostly students pursuing Ph.D in their respective fields. So as a student they understand students accordingly and help in your works either it is presentation sessions or other things. The professors usually come to take your presentations. The style of teaching of teachers is friendly.
 

Placement Rating
I don't think that currently any placements being provided. Rest depends on course.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, university provides hostel service there are separate hostels for girls and boys. There are many hostels provided. Basically I was day scholar so I haven’t spent any time in hostel so can’t say much.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The only bad experience was related to infrastructure. I was really not satisfied regarding the same in my department. No good classrooms, no proper ventilation, no cleanliness, even the chairs and benches for students sitting were broken, and stray dogs roam in whole department even in washroom. No sanitation facilities in washroom even drinking water were not available properly. I am writing it for commerce department but all departments are not same.
 

Campus Rating
As we know universities are spread over a large area so is this. It remains crowded every time. There is library in each department and main library for whole university. There is a separate reading room. Festivals are celebrated. Book fair is conducted. Sports events, youth fest, seminars, competitions, etc. were held. Parties were hosted. So many parks, a big ground, etc. are all good.

    Questioning an institute which is 6 decades old and has produced some gems is not fair but what I have been through or seen was not good either. Patiala is no more a town that is famous for its historical forts or worship places. Today, it has some of the best colleges and universities in Thapar and Chitkara University Rajpura.     Overall Rating
    Overall it's a great experience in academics as well as sports on the Punjabi University Patiala. It's NAAC 'A' grade Accredited state university. Punjabi University Admission is on pure merit basis, all reservation rules are applied in the admission process. There is a physical efficiency test for admission in M.P.ED its number should be count in merit as well as sports achievements number should be added in merit.
