St. Xavier's College, Ranchi. It is autonomous college of Ranchi University and has good infrastructure, a little small as compared to other colleges but its okay. It has all the basic facilities like gym, canteen, library etc. College management is good, everything is done in order and in a proper algorithm. For admissions it takes its own entrance test and there are interviews also for certain departments.

I have taken admission in B.A Economics (Hons). For taking admission in economics honors one has to take maths in +2. Mathematics is compulsory. I joined the course because I was slightly inclined towards it. I liked economics in +2. Yes course subjects are great and interesting. Honestly, it can just help you to pass few entrances easily. You have to crack examinations or go for MA. MA can land you in a job.

There are total of 9 faculty members. I don't have overall number of count of faculties but there are 20+ departments so if taken 9 teachers per departments we can go with 180+. Teachers are experienced. A new rule was instituted that the toppers of MA a male and female teacher would get chance to teach undergrads. Other than that teachers are have 7+ years teaching experience.

There are placement cells. Being in BA you can sit in placements of TCS, DW Shaw and other placement opportunities that come for B.Com, B.Com Vocational.

There are boys hostels, which you can get through first cum first serve basis. There are no girls hostel. Security is very tight. Food is okay. Basically you get rice, chapati, daal etc. Hostel fees are affordable.

Infrastructure is good. There's places where students can sit and hangout, there's ground, basketball court, canteens. There's gym and leisure room where students play various indoor games. Auditorium is nice, has AC classroom are spacious enough, library is good, you can issue books anytime, if books not available in library one can get it through e-library. There's a medical room also. Our college is just opposite Sadar Hospital so if any emergency one just has to cross the road.

Campus life is good if you are disciplined. There are certain restrictions on the clothes and you can't get really close to boys. Talking is fine but hugging or one putting hands on shoulders can result you your ID card. There are various clubs such as Rotaract, NCC, NSS, AICUF, geo club etc. Fests are conducted every year. It's a 3 day festival. So, it's all fun if you are disciplined.
