National Institute of Technology - A Proper Review

Overall Rating
I am interested in coding, that is the reason I left IIT. I got a rank 7832 in JEE advanced. I got electrical engineering branches in some second generation IITs. But I left that option and I had selected computer science branch in NIT Silchar, at present my studies are good. I am not regretting that I left IIT. Placements are very good in this campus. Students who are willing to get a high paid job can choose this college. You have to study the engineering to seek the knowledge not for the money. So, work smart and achieve your goals in your life.
 

Academics Rating
The academics are very decent. The lecturers are well talented and experienced people. They are very cooperative with students. First you need to crack the JEE mains examination. You have to get above 96 percentile. Actually I am interested in the coding, I want to become an app developer, and also Computer Science Engineering is a prestigious branch in engineering.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty is good. Actually in any engineering the lecturers cannot teach every part and cannot discuss the entire topics. Student has to believe him /her. Student has to concentrate on studies and coding skills. How much efforts you had kept to get an admission in this institute. You have to keep nearly 50-60% of those efforts and you can get a decent GPA.
 

Placement Rating
The placements are quite good. In my college there are 6 branches. Nearly 95-98% people are placed on campus interviews. In computer science branch the highest package is 8000000 and the average package is 2400000. Remaining branches also got very decent placements. Highest package for electronics and communication engineering branch is 5400000.
 

Hostel Rating
In my campus there are 4 girls’ hostels and 9 boy’s hostels. Present year the hostel allotment is based on your rank. If you have scored a better rank in mains examination, better hostel will be allotted to you by the college management. Actually if your rank is pretty good you can get a single room. It is very private and we can study more without any disturbance, infrastructure of the hostel is not good. The taste of hostel food is not up to the mark. South Indian people cannot eat this type of food.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is good. There are a lot of trees and the environment is also very beautiful inside the college. Academic blocks are old but they are comfortable for the class rooms. Buildings are very old but some hostels are good.
 

Campus Rating
There are some annual fests in our college. It contains both technical and cultural fests. Technical fest name is TECHNOSIS and INCANDESCENCE. First one is technical fest, in this fest we can participate in some events, gain some practical knowledge and there is spark night in this fest. Some singers and artists visit our college. Sports facility is awesome here and there are different grounds for different games in the campus. INCANDESCENCE is cultural fest, one of the biggest fest in my college. It is a very wonderful experience to me.

    National Institute of Technology, Silchar has one of the most beautiful and lush green campus across all NIT's in India. Infrastructure, faculty, facilities, academics, and classrooms are very well maintained. There is the campus of 625 acres with many different things around the whole institute.     My overall experience at the institute is far better than average. I chose this particular institute because of the NITian tag, NIRF ranking, and its huge campus size. It is an institute of national importance with good alumni network and helpful seniors.     NIT Silchar is a very beautiful institute. It covers an area of over 600 acres. It is situated in Silchar, Assam.     Overall Rating
    It is a very good experience to be in NIT Silchar. To be honest, I got this college as per my JEE Main rank. The overall placement is good here with an average package of 24 LPA for CSE and 18 LPA for ECE. My main objective while choosing was to look for good placements and a good overall academic life. I am definitely not regretting to be here. The campus is too big and really beautiful to explore. That's why I would suggest studying here, if your rank supports it.... Read Full Review
