A Complete Review of BIT Durg

Overall Rating
Bhilai Institute of Technology Durg is an institute which helps those who want to excel in life. The curriculum is tough, hectic and lengthy but can be covered by studying hard and complete attention. The college and hostel fee is costly and there is no scholarship given by college directly, even for rank holders.
 

Academics Rating
All courses present at BIT Durg are NBA certified. The college itself is NAAC 'A' rated. Branches are allotted according to students CGPET and JEE Mains score. Most of the students are from home state and are admitted through CGPET. Curriculum and syllabus is tough, hectic and lengthy due to which the students find it stressing. But you can cover it up by studying hard and making proper notes.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are educated and many of them are post graduated. Many faculties are working on government and private sponsored projects. Teaching methods are good but faculties stress students more for assignments and lab manuals. There are more theoretical practices than the practical practices. Attendance is also an issue here.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are not good here. The campus placement can be a lot better. This year's average package was 4LPA and the highest was 10LPA. Faculties motivate students more for higher studies than campus placement. Internships are also given after 3rd semester. Students actively participate in internships but most of them are unpaid. One student this year was selected for internship at Google with stipend of 1.5LPA per month. Many pass-out students are at a bulk recruiting MNC's but some of them did well in GATE and even clear CGPSC and UPSC.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostel is old and needs a lot of renovation. It's equipped with high speed Wi-Fi connection but most of the times the Wi-Fi doesn’t works properly, which needs to be repaired. The rooms are spacious but are old. Hostel has grounds for students to play different games.
 

Infrastructure Rating
As the institute is a 1987 built, the infrastructure is old and rusty but they are maintaining it anyhow. Campus is big and has football, cricket and tennis courts as well as a gym for the students. But they are accessible after 2nd semester only. The library is well equipped and has a large collection of books. The library also has a room for students to study. There's also a student store and a canteen in the campus. The canteen is small.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is decent. It's not too good but still enjoyable if you have a good friend circle. Fests and events are held regularly and actively. The biggest tech fest held here is OJAS. It's known as the biggest tech fest in entire Chhattisgarh. The college has a large crowd there are approximately 750 students in 1st year.

    My institute is very good. The facilities provided are very nice and amazing. I recommend this institute to everyone if one is not getting into tier 1 institute.     Till now I am having very pleasant experience in this institute. The people here, the knowledge imparted by the teachers here, everything seems vibrant and I get a positive energy.     I'm student at Bhilai Institute of Technology, a prestigious college located in Durg, Chhattisgarh, pursuing bachelor's in technology in Data Science Branch. It is affiliated with CSVTU. The college infrastructure is very nice, lots of greenery, good locality with easy accessibility.
