Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology B.Tech Review By Palak Rai

I thought it will be just fun like that of reels but the reality what different. You get a mixed experience of everything. Enjoyment, stress (cause of mid semester and end semester), excitement of events. Overall I would say it was great.

My course was B.Tech. You have to clear JEE to be eligible for B.Tech course in Galgotias College. The cut off for this year for CSE branch was as low as 84 percentile and it generally stays between 80-85. And lower branches like ECE and mechanical fall to 60 or 70 percentile too. If you've not given JEE then you can also take admission via your 12th percent but for CSE branch it should be above 94. I took admission in this college because it has good placements when compared to other colleges of AKTU and that too even at low percentiles of JEE. As you can see there are great demands of software engineers so you can for sure take admission it will be a good choice.

Talking about faculty, I would say Galgotias college provides a great set of faculty. Personally I have got one of the most amazing teachers in my semester. They care about you. They teach you sincerely, may scold you but they are amazing. You can Personally reach them to clear your doubts. So basically they are eager to teach. Most of the faculties are like that, they have good teaching experience. Also Galgotias has good faculty because they pay good to them.

If you've a good CGPA (8+) then of course you're eligible to sit in good companies. Every college wants to have all their students placed so Galgotias also wants hundred percent placements. Many companies like Paytm, Infosys visit our college and set a certain criteria (as per their own terms like above 7 or 8 CGPA) and take multiple rounds to help candidates get a job. The college shares important information’s like on which day or how many companies are approaching so the people who were sincerely preparing get ample of opportunities to sit in those interviews/tests.

The hostels in Galgotias are huge. They have one boys and two girl’s hostel. They have facilities like single bed, two sharing and three sharing with balconies in each. The mess has timings like every other hostel with breakfast lunch snack and dinner providing unlimited food according to you. The warden takes attendance daily and the hostel has timings like after 7pm, you can just roam around the college campus and cannot go out of the college campus. After 10pm, you can just stay inside the hostel area. You cannot even go out to college campus. I guess that is necessary for the safety purpose. It has laundry facilities; free electricity (included in the hostel charges). A screening area that has multiple bean bags, chairs and a huge TV. It has an open area with nets where you can play badminton. Terrace is also there. So overall the hostel is also adjustable and decent for a good livelihood.

There are 5 huge blocks- A block, B block, C block, D block and E block Each for different year students and for students of different branch. The building has an older texture and view with red bricks sort of structure that looks like red fort building. It has fountains. Many fountains infect. Tress with different flowers. The whole view is green and wide. It has cricket grounds, volleyball court. Basketball court. The respected faculty teaching in that block has their rooms in those block themselves. So the campus is around 12 acres and has decent infrastructure.

Campus life is not as expected. Maybe it is because of our director general who has changed this year. They do organize a lot of fest in which you can participate and enjoy. The crowd is basically from nearby districts like Muzaffar nagar, haryana and districts of up. They have a lot of clubs. Like literally a lot of clubs namely kalakriti (art club), Scintillations (fashion club), rotaract, camcirlce (photography), sponsorship club and etc. These clubs mainly organise particular events and by participating in these clubs you can actually outshine in college. They also give you attendance and if you're active member of the club you can hold different positions like coordinator or club head/ general secretary etc. They have multiple fests throughout the year for different branches or for different year students. So if you're into extracurricular activities. This college is for you.
