IIITDM Kancheepuram Or Chennai is one of the top IIITs in country. It has zero ragging policy and also the policy has been implemented very seriously. And also college has a NIRF ranking 8 in innovation and normal NIRF ranking 184 once now it is going to be in between 100 to 150. Here the academics and personal life management is very good. College’s area is around 50 acres. It is situated in outskirts of Chennai near Kandigai. I choose this college by enquiring about the college through my family and friends. Here the faculty is quite interactive and dedicated towards teaching. Although rules are little strict they are for the betterment of the students so that students don't get into any hazardous activities. Here students get good academic knowledge. We also have great sports facilities and also two great yearly fests.

I took Electronics and Communication Engineering course and got branch transferred to Computer Science Engineering after 1st semester. Students need to pass JEE Mains examination to get entry into B.Tech in IIITDM Kancheepuram. To get into CSE through JEE Mains students need to get around 98 percentile if they are general category. For ECE around 97 for general category.

Faculty is very highly knowledgeable and almost all the faculty has done their education from some of the top colleges of the country (IITs and NITs). Faculty here is very interactive and has great motivation to teach students.

Yes, we have a placement cell here. College’s average package is around 9 LPA. CSE average package is around 13LPA and ECE average package is around 11LPA.We also have Mechanical and Smart Manufacturing branches in college. Placement cell try to bring new and better companies to college. Placement cell also conducts meeting to acknowledge students about current placements and the competition.

Yes, we have residential facilities in our college. There are 3 boy’s hostels names Ashwatha, Ashoka and Jasmine Annex and one girl’s hostel -Jasmine. Usually first year boy’s hostel -Jasmine Annex is kept apart from other year hostels. Till second year end students have two persons per room. From third year some get single rooms. Lifts are available in hostels. Cool and hot Drinking water also available in hostels. Hostels also have washing machines some are automatic and some are normal washing machines. Hostel affairs conduct all the festivals very nicely.

Campus has a huge academics and laboratory blocks. Academics block is of 4 floors and Laboratory block is of 6 floors. Academics block also has some halls with capacity of accommodating 250 students. Classrooms are of two types with capacity of accommodating 150 and 70 students at a time. Library is also present in college. Students can take books for issue around 4 books at a time. College also has great sports facilities -a indoor wooden basketball court, a outdoor basketball court, two synthetic outdoor volleyball courts, a football ground, a cricket ground, one outdoor synthetic tennis courts, a gym, 5 indoor badminton courts out of which 3 are synthetic and 2 are wooden and also college provides infrastructure for chess, table tennis and caroms.

Campus Life is very good here. Compared to other IIITs here campus life is far better. We have two yearly fests Vashist-technical fest and Samgatha- cultural fest. And we have many clubs belonging to technical and cultural fields. Also we have some student chapter such as Optica Student Chapter funded by Optical Society of America. Some of our technical clubs such as AUV club and Mars club have been to international level competitions and have also won in some competitions.
