CMR College of Engineering is top engineering college of CMR group. It is situated in the outskirts so traveling can be an issue. CMR Engineering College is affiliated to JNTU, but it's an autonomous college, which gives you relaxation in exams. It has been awarded A+ from NAAC. It received 5th ranking at all India level.

I'm a computer science student. The syllabus is pretty old, but it's the case for all the engineering colleges. To join this college either you can write EAMCET, which is a state-level exam for Telangana or you can join through management quota. If you're a good score in JEE mains then chances are that you might get some concession in management quota.

When it comes to faculty, you'll find good and bad teachers as well. You'll find teachers who have an abundance of knowledge. Stay in touch with such teachers; they will help you excel. You'll find teachers who don't know anything about the subject. If you get one, study on your own. As I said, you'll find both types of teachers. Some teachers have experience of 40 years, and some are fresher; they joined teaching after M.Tech and even B.Tech. In short, don't depend on teachers to study on your own. And, if you get a good teacher then its surplus.

Training and placement cell is really good and responsible. They make sure they provide you with everything you need to get placed in a good company. You'll find product-based companies like Amazon and mass recruiters as well as TCS. The highest package I'm aware of was 26 lakhs for the most recent batch. And, the average package is Rs. 4-5 lakhs. Almost 70-80% gets placed in companies. Word of advice, if you looking to get placed in a good company then make sure your friend circle has the same goals. Get in touch with good seniors and teachers and they'll help you out throughout. And, put in a lot of hard work and you'll get placed in a good company. College provides a lot of trainings for placements, technical placements, and as well soft skill training. So, you'll never face a problem in terms of placements.

I'm a day scholar, so I never stayed in the hostel. But, yes, I did visit the hostels. The rooms are big and spacious. 4 beds are placed in a room, common washrooms and mess. I heard the mess food is sometimes good and mostly average. The entire hostel is hygienic. But, the rules are strict. Curfew is 6 pm. You cannot use your phone outside your room, I know it is illogical, but it is what it is. Wardens are strict as well. I'll suggest that you go for some private hostel. The hostel fees like around 72k and keep increasing every year.

The total campus of CMR group of institutions is around 75 to 100 acres. CMRCET is around 10 acres. There are 3 blocks. Block one is for 1st year and MBA students. Block two is for 2,3 and 4th years. Block 3 has an amazing library, gym, and fitness room. There's a canteen where you can find pretty much everything. There's a small coffee point, a juice point, and a general shop. There's a stationary as well within the campus where you can find all the services. Auditorium is common for all the college, it has a capacity of 2000 students and it's amazing. It's big and all the functions happen there. Apart from it, CMRCET has a small auditorium for 500 students. Which is used for functions and fest by everyone. Classrooms are pretty decent, most of the classes have a whiteboard, screen, and projector. Laboratories are equipped with pretty much everything as well, pretty decent again. Yeah, in most of the labs you'll find equipment aren't working.

When it comes to social life, I must warn you that you'll not find anything here. Hardly one or two fests are organized in a year. So, if you are looking for fun, I'm sorry you'll not find it here. College keeps organizing guest lectures and a lot more. College aim is to get you placed in a company and they'll do anything and everything for that. You'll find a lot of guest and alumni lectures, you'll find a lot of different workshops and seminars. College keeps collapsing with other organizations. There are movie promotions and other things as well but mostly in their regional language. There are around 10-15 clubs, some are active, some are inactive, depends on the admin. Some are fun, whereas some are dead.
