The IIS University B.A Review By Meenal Samdhani

I finished my B.A. (Hons) in English Literature at the IIS University, and I found the course to be extremely fruitful and insightful. Through the course, I could gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of English Literature along with subjects like Psychology. I chose this university as there is ample focus on academics enhancing the student's educational experience. However, because of its undeterred focus on academics, other areas like campus life don't come to par. One should certainly choose this university for the academics and helpful and supporting faculty.

My course was focused on English Literature, with an elective in Psychology. The course was detailed and provided insight into the formation and continuation of English Literature. The entry requirements of this course included a minimum 65% in 12th. Furthermore, I chose this course because of my enduring love for English Literature, through which I explored different topics, theories, and perspectives.

The faculty at the IIS University is well-informed and will assist you through different challenges and struggles. The teachers are well-seasoned with prominent educational and research qualifications. Their teaching style was interactive and allowed students to gain different views and perspectives regarding teaching materials.

Yes, the university had a placement cell, which aimed at interacting with students for different work opportunities. Personally, I didn't find the placement cell much helpful for finding jobs in the writing and publishing industry.

The campus of this university is situated in Mansarovar, Jaipur. Compared to other universities as well as the courses and students it has, the campus is relatively small. However, despite this, they have space for cultural and sports activities. The campus is also fitted with adequate and suitable furniture.

Since, most of my bachelor’s degree was completed during the COVID; my comments are based on what I experienced when I attended the campus. Much of the student experience at IIS is focused on academics, leaving little to no space for campus life or extracurricular activities. Despite this, there is focus on a student campus experience as fests and engagement activities were held regularly. There was also a dedicated period for engagement activities that allowed for student interactions. However, the campus life could have expanded more to teach students essential life skills like leadership.
