IIS University B.A Review By Jahnvi Mishra

Today there are so many education hubs for the bright future and good carrier of the student, ICG (International College for Girls) now IIS (Deemed to be University), is one of them. A settler for woman education, IIS University is a topmost institute of Rajasthan in Jaipur. The college is affiliated with UGC and recognised by NAAC as Grade 'A'. The college was established in the year 1995 with the purpose to enhance and cherish the students by giving them the best ways of learning and knowledge. The university is creating a persuasive among the students and compelling them to choose IIS as their education place to complete their degrees and explore their passion. The admission criteria of the university are also very simple. A student with more than 50% of marks in 12th is eligible for this college. There is no entrance test and students also apply for admission online.

I am a student of IIS and currently pursuing English Literature (Honors) from here, as my subordinate subject I have sociology in my foundation course. In the first year, I had English grammar and French. In the second year, I had computer and general knowledge and in the third year, I have woman studies and business. The academic qualities of the college are too good. there are several courses and degrees available for the student like it’s a college of fashion designing, law, BA (Hons.), mass media and journalism, etc. immense opportunities are present for the students they choose the field according to their interest.

The faculty of the campus is very supportive and helpful with great teaching skills. All teachers are very well qualified and have good knowledge in their respective subject. They all are PhD holders with teaching experience of around six to seven years. For my course, there are four to five teachers who help me a lot in clearing my doubt, provide study material and regular lectures. The best thing I like about the teachers of my campus is that they are not only focused on teaching. Moreover, they are encouraging us to involve with students and do curriculum activities that help a lot to build up a friendly and healthy environment among teachers and students. There are also carrier counselors. All over the management is very good and there is discipline among teachers and students.

The college also has a proper placement & training cell which helps students to place at attractive salary packages. The highest salary package offered is six lakh per annum. Big companies are invited for placements like Infosys, Tata, Reliance and many international companies. For my course yet there are no placements but for other courses like MBA, Fashion designing, computer applications there are placements. About 80 to 85 percent of students were placed every year.

The hostel of the campus is good the rooms are in a good condition with all infrastructure facilities proper electricity and water supply in it. But the minus point of the hostel is that it is not clean the washrooms and rooms are not properly cleaned by the worker. So, the surrounding of the hostel is not that much clean and hygienic. The mess of the hostel serves good food according to schedule food is provided to the students. There is a warden in the hostel to take care of girls every girl should inform the warden before going out of the hostel. They have to take permission from the warden. Guards are there at the gate of the hostel for security. So overall the hostel is safe and secure for girls.

The infrastructure facilities are good the campus is huge. There are big classrooms, grounds, and auditorium. Classrooms are well furnished with smart study materials like projectors for the presentation and Wi-Fi is there. The college has one central library with all the books of different publishers, writers, novels for the students and so many. A computer lab is there with all kinds of modern gadgets and there are two hundred and twenty-five computers in it. The auditoriums are huge with a sitting capacity of more than 1000 students it is fully air-conditioned. It is a huge lavish green attractive campus in the best location of the city. The college ground has a volleyball court and basketball court in it. There is one cafeteria on the campus which is also good with satisfactory materials. Emergency facilities are also there.

IIS was great with courses, academics, and infrastructure. Not only this, the college also organizes the fest and workshops. Annual functions are done so that students can get the chance to participate in it and expose themselves with their innovative ideas and take part in this with great excitement. Freshers' party is also done. Sports activities, yoga programs, plantation are also conducting in the college. At last, I want to say it’s a great college for girls, and being an ICGian is a great feeling.
