KL University B.Tech Review By Raju Mahato

I was a student of KLU and passed out my engineering in the year 2014. I had gone through several options before finally finalizing KLU. Vijawwada is an education hub and the quality education means quality in Vijaywada. There were a lot of word of mouth murmurs going on that KLU just means business and they just want to make money. However, my goals were clear that along with engineering, I also have to be ready for the next chapter of my life and KLU provides you all such opportunities. I was planning for higher education and therefore the placements which are quite better was not an area of concern for me ever. Andhra Pradesh has various institutes and all my friends went here and there but I stayed to choose in my hometown and be a part of KLU which I am confident is much better than many other engineering colleges in India. Since my goal was clear and I achieved all of it and taking you back in time it really feels grateful.

That’s the pillar of any University and mind you it was the strongest ever. I never saw teachers interacting with students in Telugu which is quite common in Universities here. This was the best part and some of the professors were from different parts of the country and they taught us one thing that if you don’t want to be confined to Andhra, it is important that you learn Hindi as well. These were important aspects as I stay in Bangalore today and it was KLU that prepared me or honed me to easily adjust anywhere and language will never come in-between. The University has Skill up-gradation event or a program and that made us skilled engineers who were at par with any University for that matter.

One of the finest in terms of imparting their knowledge. One of our professor’s was from Delhi and making us understand the value of knowing the country as a whole is more beneficial than looking at a city or a state. The faculty members always wanted to make us competent with the global University students. The potent that they bring has to be there in the KLU students. To impart practical skills in students, the practicals were giving more of an edge. The professors themselves supervised the research centers that gave us an insight on industrial demands.

I was in 2 minds whether I have the energy left to go for further studies or shall I thrive on the campus placements. For whoever who says that KLU doesn’t have a placement organization or that they don’t care is as true as Mukesh Ambani is poor. The placement drive of campus was conducted so smoothly and it lasted 20 days. A bare minimum of students may have missed out otherwise the companies like Deloitte, IBM, HP, Dell Computers, and Mphasis have been a long friend of the college. The average placements were 50-60k per month and as fresher engineers that’s more than any other colleges for sure.

A 10 floor boy’s hostel and a girls hostel building was there at the campus itself. The dining area was cleaner and hygienic than any food court in mall. 95% students were from Andhra and therefore the menu boasted the local dishes and some international dishes as well. The 5% did have a tough time and rightly so as I can’t have consume different kind of food for more than 2 days. The timings of the hostel was quite strict as the dining area closed around 9.30 and by 10pm we all must be inside our rooms.

Over 100 acres campus boasts greenery and there were over a thousand threes for sure. All the buildings are painted white and mostly tall structured building is what you will find. This is rare in Vijaywada and therefore you can spot the University buildings from a distant place. Each department of engineering had their own research centers and labs. The campus was fully Wi-Fi and the digital library meant that hostelites can access the books from their rooms. Sporting facilities were great as we had both indoor and outdoor sporting facilities that were class apart.

The high points of the campus were the campus infrastructure the smart faculty, advanced labs and great placement opportunities. Once all these things are taken care of, I don’t think there’s anything else that matters. The mockery was there as the course had way too many components and it was nothing but just for namesake. The fees is on the higher side but they do have some scholarships program for the bright students. Almost all the rooms be it library, auditorium or classrooms, all were air-conditioned at the campus. Yes the fees is high and therefore it has turned into a farm that makes money but the kind of facilities they provide it was all worth it.
