The Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology which is also known as KIET is one of the prestigious colleges of Uttar Pradesh. It is affiliated to Abdul Kalam Technical University and you can get in the college by two ways. One is to score good marks in your Board Exams and the other way is to score a good rank in UPSEEE. It is a private college, so the academic and hostel fees is high, but it is less when compared to the fee structure of other private universities. But the good part of the college is that it is mainly focused on the academic are unlike other colleges.

I have done my B.Tech in Electronic and Communication branch and got in college through counseling. The college is proved to be good for the students who score well throughout the year and is a hell for the poor grading students. The teaching quality in the first and second year is better when compared to the senior years. They have lab tutorials and the whole year is spent on writing assignments and tests which includes the session and class tests. I felt like I was back in school in the first year, but students like me have adapted the environment with time.

The faculties in KIET are good and well educated and most of them have done their PhD in various fields. They hard working for 4 to 5 semesters but fail to make efforts on the students who have lost interest in the academic region due to preparing for their post graduations. They are not motivating enough and will answer your doubts only if you go by yourself and ask them. They hardly give any career advice and are mostly focused on preparing students for scoring well in the college only. The percentage of a student matters them a lot and they treat them accordingly.

The placement cell works well only if you belong to CS/IT region and if you are in other branches and are good in coding then you can get a package of 10 LPA very easily. Companies like Adobe, Amazon visit KIET as it is a cool campus and students at the same college have bag a job of Rs. 27 LPA even from here. But if you are not interested in the IT Sector, then the college does have business development companies as well such as BYJU’s, Mahindra and many more. The average package of the college is 3-4 LPA as the students here are made to target for the companies with 5-7 LPA. The placement cell also organizes the soft skill programs to enhance the various skills in the students.

The college has two hostels in which the other new has got some good features including AC rooms and good food. So, the students in the old hostel are demanding for the same as both are paying the same hostel fees. The rooms in the hostel are big even though the college is expanded in small area and thus offer the students with the studious environment. There is a strict deadline for the entry in the college for both the boys and girls and parents are involved if the students are found to break the rules.

The area in which KIET has extended to is small but is enough as it the area span is only 18 acres and the reason being land purchasing. The area in which the college is located is still under development and is near some village, but it hardly has any impact on the campus life. If you want to buy something which is not available in the near market, you can order it instead and I would not suggest you go to mall every other day after bunking class. The malls and other supermarkets are 15 -20km far from the college campus and the auto and bus service is worst there.

The college life is amazing in KIET and you get to be a part of the live concert in which celebrities used to visit. But the fest has the passes which are very expensive but is worth buying. The college also has some sports equipment that is well maintained but does not have any coaches or trainer for the same. The sports fee for the hostellers is free but the day scholar hardly gets time to get involved in the sports as they are present in the classroom from 9 to 5. There is fine on breaking things.
