Review on Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur

Overall Rating
My Overall review on BCREC is that it is just an average college but its campus is good and big. From my point of view it is very good college to take admission in Durgapur and good placement rate. Currently I'm in 2nd year from ECE department and I learn many things throughout in this college life.
 

Academics Rating
There are several courses in this college like B.Tech, M.Tech, etc. and have separate buildings. Other courses like BCA, MCA, BBA, etc. have separate building. Requirement and eligibility of BCREC is basic i.e., you should have required rank in WEBJEE and JEE MAINS or you can take admission by management quota. But keep in mind that it’s a private college so you will get private college like environment.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty of this college is not so good not so bad. Some faculties are so good that he or she may look like your friends and they will teach you very well but some teachers or HODs have high attitude and ego level that may irritate you. There Professor has Ph.D and Masters degrees but they are not able to transfer their knowledge to their students.
 

Placement Rating
My Placement review is, many companies came here to hire like Accenture, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, IBM, and many other core companies. For placements you should have to maintain 7 CGPA at least and no active backlog then you will be able to sit in the campus placement. After your interview you will get a job.
 

Hostel Rating
There are Separate hostels for boys and girls. There are 3 boys’ hostel and 2 girls’ hostel. Separate hostels for first year for both boys and girls including mess.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There are 10 blocks in this college. When you enter in the college first you see is Management House. This is only for official work like admission, fees, payment, etc. Then Main building where all the classes is there for all stream student from 2nd to 4th year, 1st year class has separate building called VidyaSagar Bhawan. Apart from this, AJC Bose Building, Mechanical Building, AICTE Lab, REC Point, Civil Building, etc. are there. Canteen is also available with very reasonable price.
 

Campus Rating
Campus of this college is big and there are 2 playgrounds, basketball court, and separate gym for boys and girls. There is a yearly Tech Fest held where all the students take participate and show their skills. College Fest named ZEAL also held yearly where you can participate and show your skills in singing, dancing, drama, ramp walk, etc. Crowd, clubs, fests, and other engagement activities are quite good.

    Overall Rating
    The overall experience is good. The labs are well-equipped and maintained and the faculty is quite helpful. All the professors are knowledgeable and helpful in academics and also other aspects. The college ground is well maintained and includes sports like football, cricket, basketball and sports facilities. Hostel is also available. The seniors are not arrogant and are quite helpful....
