Prof. Ram Meghe Institute of Technology and Research B.Tech Review By Vijaya Kapse

Every student has some expectations from the engineering college they are getting an admission into and I honestly think Prof. Ram Meghe Institute of Technology and Research has lived up to it, more or less. There are various factors that are important considering a college for engineering. I have one word for the college i.e. disciplined. When taking into consideration the engineering colleges in Amravati, I had purposefully chosen this college because of the discipline it has maintained. The seniors have been really friendly and helpful throughout my degree, so they deserve a mention here. College provides a great opportunity to every student. It is then the student's call to take over the opportunity and make gold out of it.

I studied Electronics and Telecommunication. Teaching at Ram Meghe College is great. They take ample of tests before the actual semester exams. This system of tests gets us fully prepared for the final exams. The tests include 2 unit tests and one common test. The college is very strict about discipline and regular attendance at lectures and practicals is required. Our whole class is divided into 4 practical batches and each one gets his/her own system to operate during practicals. The practical labs are well equipped and regular practicals are carried out along with lectures. We have to give a mini-project in the second year of our degree while there is one more project in the final year. I did two projects in my degree course, one is Alcohol Detector and another one is Automatic Winding Machine. Academically, Prof. Ram Meghe college is satisfying.

Faculties were very helpful and encouraging at Ram Meghe. While teaching theory subjects, they used to teach that with the help of PPTs. And while teaching the numerical, they used to teach on blackboard, making sure every student understands it. They used to make sure that every student is learning a quality education and try to clear every doubt. Even if we go to the faculty staff during races to ask some doubts, without judging or anything, the faculty will help you. Some faculty staff holds PhD degrees, like mostly HODs and senior lecturers. Otherwise the other staff was only postgraduate. Most of the staff was very good at teaching while some were not, but I think it somewhat depends on students too, whose teaching they get along with. It can differ from student to student.

Though I did go for higher studies after my graduation but still I have seen my friends and seniors getting placement into companies like TCS, L&T, Capgemini, Cognizant, KPIT, etc. Other students from colleges who do not have placement facilities yet are also allowed to come and give placement interviews from our college. The college conducts CRT (Campus Recruitment Training) in our college. Teachers from Face Academy are there to train us in CRT. We have to pay fees to take part in CRT, and it is compulsory for every student to join it. Some students, who are over smart, pay fees for CRT but don't attend classes. M-CAT exams are also conducted in our college, whose core is helpful in recruitment. Placement offered by Prof. Ram Meghe Engineering College is good. Students can expect packages starting from Rs. 4.5 lacs to Rs. 8.5 lacs.

The college doesn't have any hostel facility. Students who come from other can get rental rooms as per their convenience and stay there. The area where I had a room on rent was very far away from the college. The rooms that are near the college had very high rents even though some of them are very small.

Ram Meghe Engineering College has cool infrastructure with multi-storey buildings for each department. You'll see no garbage or clutter anywhere in the building or campus. The college is famous for that. The college has a library which is huge and has loads of books including books required for higher studies and entrance exams like GATE. The college canteen is also very clean. The college has its own ambulance and doctor also in the emergency department.

I really enjoyed my time at Ram Meghe College very much. The students cannot easily bunk lectures and roam around the college campus. The security keeps checking on that too. If they see any students bunking lectures and wasting time on the college campus, the student is punished by the department whose class he bunked. Most of the teachers are strict but friendly at the same time. Many events and festivals are celebrated in the campus of Prof. Ram Meghe College. Our cultural event lasts for the whole 2 weeks. It includes sports, dance, drama, orchestra, debate competition, fashion show with different theme ideas, Roborace, etc.
