After having my scored of WBJEE I had analyzed of the cut offs of all the colleges. I wanted to go with CS branches like CSE or IT. My rank was nearly 20k and I could not found any colleges near from my home with the branch I needed. Many of my seniors and relatives had told me about AOT at that time and It was the nearest college from my home. The CSE branch cut off was too high but there is a branch called Computer Science and Business Systems. It's a specialized branch for CS. I have researched a lot about the new branch and it looked interesting to me. I had an opportunity to learn CS and Business at a same time. So I took admission to AOT in CSBS department. And now I am in 6th SEM. I will tell others that they can also go for this branch because it's similar like CSE but the advantage is some extra business papers are there which will be more interesting to read and learn and I hope it will help at the time of placement also. So if you're looking for a good college within 20k rank with CS branch you can definitely go for the AOT-CSBS branch.

I have told that I have taken admission in the CSBS branch. It's similar like CSE but some advance business paper moreover some MBA papers are added in the course. There are 8 semesters as the other courses. And you can appear in the gate exam also. CSBS students can do all the stuffs which CSE students can do. So there are no disadvantages while taking the CSBS branch as this is similar to CSE with some extra business papers. From my perspective it's better to take CSBS as there are no disadvantages.

Teachers are really good. There are approx 60+ teachers in the college. There are separate teachers for every subject. They are well qualified as most of them have completed their masters in specific domains and they have 10+ experiences in the teaching line. Some of the teachers have completed their degrees from IITs and NITs. Their teaching style is really cool and interesting. At least in CSBS branch all the faculties are too good. All of them give us plenty of notes and resources to perform well in MAKAUT exams.

AOT's placement cell is too good! Many companies and startups usually come to our college to take fresher’s. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Persistent, IBS, KPIT and much more! TCS is one of our mass recruiters and they give more advantages to CSBS students for getting placed in their company. AOT provides well number of placements throughout the whole year.

I live in a PG near college. There are many pgs and mess in near the college. It just gives the facility of staying, for flooding we go to a hotel to eat. For staying the mess and pgs costs max 1500/person. There are some messes who provide both flooding and lodging in 3k-4k/month. I prefer to stay outside because in the hostel food is provided only two times and the quality is also poor.

Our college has one of the biggest campuses. No other college near Kolkata has such a big campus like AOT. There is a pool in the middle of AOT and there is a big football ground where we play football. It has a huge parking lot, we play cricket in front of that generally. AOT has a basketball court near canteen. There are separate buildings for girls and boys hostels. Also we have a huge library with a reading room where anyone can seat and read in a certain time by using their library guard.

There are several clubs in our college like Students Chapters. They used to organise several events and tech sessions in a frequent time interval to improve the coding culture and tech culture in the college. We have GDSC club which promotes Google technologies and helps the students to grow and adopt new technologies. Coding competitions, photography competitions, hackathon, open source events, tech fests, ARCADIA - the grand college fest held in our college. So I can bet you that AOT will not disappoint you in enjoying and engaging in the activities though college is strict about attendance. You have to maintain min 75% attendance throughout the semester to sit in the exam. Otherwise you can enjoy a great college life with friends. So all the best for your future. Choose your college wisely and enjoy the college life. These are the most precious and important time in your life.
