Purulia Government Engineering College, Purulia - My Review

Overall Rating
Ramkrishna Mahato Government engineering college formerly known as Purulia Government Engineering College is established in 2016, so it is not much older. College campus is quite good. It is situated at Chas Road in Purulia District. The locality is very rural. College campus is good. As a new college the placements records are good. There are very friendly environment is college. Faculties as well as seniors are very helpful. Overall experience is good in this college.
 

Academics Rating
You can get admission by clearing WBJEE examination. This institution offers five different fields of engineering. These are CSE, ECE, EE, ME, & CE. Closing rank for general is this college is about 15000. If anyone belongs to any particular cast the closing ranks increase as per the casts. All the departments are good and professors are very hardworking.
 

Faculty Rating
As this is a government sponsored college all the faculties are highly qualified. Faculties are very helpful and friendly. If anyone needs some assistance they can feel free to approach faculties. You will get mentors during your final year project. Faculties teaching styles are mainly based on practical oriented rather theory oriented. In the end faculties are very helpful and beneficial. Faculties are also members of anti-ragging cell to prevent ragging.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, it has Placement Cell. The overall percentage of placement is near about 60%.
 

Hostel Rating
There are two hostels in college campus for 3rd and 4th year. Hostel infrastructures are good as it is a new college. Hostel food is average. The hostel fees is about 26000 per year. Hostels are good in this college. There is no ragging.
 

Infrastructure Rating
This college mainly has two building, administrative building, and academic building. College administration, library, and 1st year classrooms are situated in administrative building. Academic building has also two parts. In the first part there exists the departments such as CSE, EE, ME, and in the second part CE and ECE departments are situated. There is no common auditorium. Two hostel form 3rd and 4th year.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is good. There are multiple clubs such astronomy club, Robotics and Innovations Club, Google Developer Students Club, etc. There is NSS also, which organises various events. Talking about fest, the annual fest is known as Aikyatan and tech fest is named as Techlavya. There are other events also such as Saraswati Puja, Viswakarma Puja, and many more.

    I chose this college because this college is near from my home town and the train station is 1 km away from the college campus so there is convenience of commuting I heard before admission in this college that the education of this college is quite good so I took admission there.
