Everyone knows Pune has a heritage for education in Maharashtra. The city has so many different educational colleges and specifically many engineering colleges. MIT is one of them. When at MIT, I never realized where the 4 years of my engineering degree went by. In the engineering field you are assigned colleges on the basis of your JEE score. I put my preference for MIT and thankfully my scores actually led me into MIT. Spending 4 years in MIT was a great experience. All of my friends were in different colleges but only I got admission in MIT, which led me into being a little anxious too. The college has a huge and pleasant looking campus. Most of the departments are strict but helpful as well. The discipline must be strictly followed by every student in MIT.

MIT is very strict about academics. They always want their students to give their best. This is why MIT has always ranked high as compared to other colleges. The education here is taken very seriously, whether it is in the classroom or in a practical lab. In my department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, because the subject is all based on practical knowledge, the teachers always balanced both the knowledge sources, classes and practicals. In engineering you have to study way too many subjects in your 4 years of degree and you do Not skip any of them if you want to be good at what you do. Some of the subjects are boring but you have to balance them all.

Every department faculty has great staff in MIT. They were always very helpful in clearing doubts even to our silly questions sometimes. As the engineering is a long duration course, but the staff don't make it seem like. The teaching is good but sometimes it's just reading the PPTs which get boring the whole lecture. You can't skip any lecture; the faculty wants you to have a maximum percentage of attendance in every subject. That is what makes a student good in their eyes. The guidance provided by faculty members is really helpful to choose the college and course after engineering.

The student in every department in MIT has equal exposure to placement. The faculty is advised to train students for placement interviews. The companies mostly in automobiles, IT, electronics, etc. come for recruitment in MIT. The students who scored higher in the academics are given more attention in the training for the placements. I was not among the ones with topper but still that doesn't mean I got any less of attention in training. The teachers were really good with the training for placements. The packages the companies offer are satisfactory, even for average students.

I stayed in the MIT hostel for only one year. It is near the college itself, but I couldn't adjust with the restrictions they had there. They also had mess in the hostel which provided meals 3 times a day. But we used to eat lunch in the college canteen most of the time because it was convenient to have lunch between the little races we got during lectures. The hostel is neat and the rooms are also good. The rooms are divided into 3 categories. I used to stay with 2 students. But they had way too many restrictions so moving out looked like a good option to me. The hostel has an indoor games room where we used to sit and chat or play in our free time at the hostel.

MIT has great infrastructure and campus. There's a temple also in the college campus. The college has a big sports ground and a sports committee which organises different sports events. The football and cricket matches are held in the sports ground of MIT. Other nearby residents can also use the sports ground before and after the college timings. The college has enough greenery all over the campus area. The classrooms are big and have projectors in every class and also they have screens in most of the classrooms. The college also has an indoor activity hall where many indoor games are there for students. They have a canteen, a huge library also in the college. College campus also has 2 gyms.

The cultural events gave us the space to show off our skills other than academics. I really enjoyed all the cultural events and festivals in my time at MIT. They are celebrated with great spirit in the college. You also have to follow strict discipline even in campus areas. Though the faculties are strict, they are equally friendly after the classes. They not only helped us in academic problems but even if we shared personal problems with them, they used to listen to us and help us through it. The college campus is huge with all the facilities provided that should be in a college.
