Dr. Sudhir Chandra Sur Institute of Technology & Sports Complex B.Tech Review By Tuhin Chakraborty

First of all I'm a B.Tech Automobile Engineering student. Currently I'm in second year. I choose this college because of some specific points. Described below - 1) I'm Automotive Enthusiast and from early age I'm eager to study Automobile Engineering and there are only two colleges who provides B.Tech in Automobile Engineering in West Bengal. So between those two colleges my College is best in kind of infrastructure, placement, faculties, everything. 2) If you say that there are many colleges out of our state provides B.Tech Automobile Engineering. It’s right but everyone is comfortable in their home state and my college provides a little bit cheaper course fees than other colleges.

B.Tech Automobile Engineering is a course which is only made for Automobile enthusiasts only. Not only B.Tech, the diploma, and M.Tech which is specified in Automobile Engineering is only for Enthusiasts. If you don't have a little bit of interest in cars or bikes then Automobile Engineering is not for you. This course is love more over a dream you can say in my case. If you want to join B.Tech in Automobile Engineering then you've to get good marks in 10th and 12th. And pure science is mandatory in 12th for joining this course. I got 82% in 10th and 87% in 12th (Pure science). And engineering entrance exams are also important to join the course. I gave West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination also before admission.

Faculty members basically our departmental teachers are too good. For me my department, teachers are a family. Faculty members of my department are very good, always helpful and very polite. If you have any questions or need or any problem they always helps you to resolve it. More over faculty members took extra classes before exams. Our HoD sir is very humble person. He is a really good man and his knowledge in undoubtedly unbelievable. Otherwise other faculties are also very well knowledgeable. One of them is also from IIT Indore. Overall just amazing. It's too much good.

Placement, it's a very important thing. Mainly for engineers. Our college has a particular T&P Cell. It is good at all. Last year our department's placement is good. One senior got 3 lakh per annum around package on campus. Otherwise the average placement packages are 2.5 lakhs around.

Yes, I'm a hosteller. Hostel life is a separate life. Basically when you're in college hostel. There are many boys from different places. Their culture, language is also different. In hostel you gain many experiences related to real life. Our college hostel has Wi-Fi facility, but the speed of Wi-Fi is slow. Many times Wi-Fi sucks also. Otherwise the food quality of hostel is on an average. Some time the food is too good and some time the food is not even smell able. It depends on you. You’ve to eat. There is no problem of water in Hostel. Hostel is inside the campus.

The academic activities of our college are good. Fresher’s party, annual fest, etc. is organised every year. Otherwise many cultural programs organises our college. In every month there are at least two programs. Our campus has a big football ground, a big indoor stadium, etc. Moreover, there is a separate Automobile lab in our campus which is very much good. There are many tools, car parts, cars, project cars, etc. made by students. Otherwise there is full of greenery inside our campus. The main building is 5 stories.

If you are thinking to get very much help from college then please stop your thinking. It's true that teachers/faculties are very helpful but at last you've to walk alone, your problem is yours only. Campus life is very much good. We can play football, cricket, badminton, table tennis, etc. inside our college. There are many clubs in our college like tech club, drama club, recitation, debate, volleyball club, etc.
