Coochbehar Government Engineering College B.Tech Review By Soumyadip Das

The college experience is below average. I had to choose this college because I didn't know the counselling process after decentralized counselling properly. Within 6.5k rank in WBJEE I could get better college but I had to take this college because of lack of knowledge about the counselling process. Otherwise I could have chosen better college like baharampur Government Engineering College or Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College at my rank. And also my aim was to take only a Government Engineering College as the feast structure of a government founded college is very less. For academics only 50000 to 60000 is required for the computer science and electronics engineering department. And for the electrical mechanical and civil engineering department it is almost half around 25000 to 35000. So for if someone money is a big concerned he should definitely go for this college, as the fee structure is much lower as compared with the other private Engineering colleges in West Bengal.

Here only 5 courses are provided. Those are B.Tech in computer science Engineering, B.Tech in electronics and communication engineering, B.Tech in civil engineering, B.Tech in mechanical engineering, and B.Tech in electrical engineering. To be eligible for this college one has to be at least 60% in his higher secondary and have valid of WBJEE examination. As this is a fully government founded college that is the main motivation of enrolling in this college. And also I am a big enthusiast about the software industries so this is also the big motivation for me for enrolling in this course.

Faculties are good enough and knowledgeable. They are more helpful when some student is eager to learn. In computer science and electronics communication department all faculty sir extremely good. And the faculties of other department I also good enough. Most of the faculties have a huge experience either in industry or in teaching. They hardest to take classes and teach the student at every detail.

Yes, there is a Placement Cell in our institute but it isn't that helpful to the students. The cell remains mostly inactive throughout the year and get active only in the placement session. Otherwise no preparation suggestions are given from the Placement Cell.

For Boys Only 4th year students are allotted hostel as there is only two hostels one of which is not opened and maintain till a last accident case. And two hostels are under construction are they are almost done. Those two hostels maybe available by the starting of 2025. For girls there is one hostel which is provided to the students and properly maintained.

The infrastructure is absolutely average or below average there is no glamorous infrastructure in this institute. There is one big playground in which cricket and football is played and another is a small program where volleyball is played. And also there is a tennis playground. Mainly two buildings are there those are the administrative building and the academic building except this there is a building for the laboratory and library, to big works of are there and one cafeteria.

Campus life is also average. The crowd is not too much as every year has approximately 300 students. So many clubs are there like art club, sports club, photography club, writing club, dance club, gamers club, debate club, singing club, motivation talk club, theatre club, news club, and knowledge club. This entire club is active enough in their activities. Fest: the main fest in this college is the tech come cultural fest ESPARANZA. It is 3 to 5 days long take fest even where initially different take competitions are held and cultural events are held. There many competitions like coding competition, robo making competition, bridge making competition, gaming competition, chess competition, quiz competition, web and graphics designing competition, etc. and the cultural events are like dance, play, poetry, etc are organised.
