My Review on St Xaviers College, Ranchi

Overall Rating
St. Xavier's College, Ranchi is one of the best colleges of Jharkhand. The infrastructure is one of the best in the city. There are a number of courses available for different streams. The classes are regular and the examinations are taken on time due to the autonomous status of the college. The teachers are very helpful and well trained. Over all the experience is good, probably the best in Jharkhand especially for the Commerce Stream.
 

Academics Rating
For taking admission into B.Com (Accounts), a student needs to fill up the college form and clear the entrance test conducted in the college. To be eligible, one needs to score a minimum of 50% marks in Accounts and Business Studies including a 50% over all in their 12th Boards for Commerce students and a 50 % over all for Science students. Arts Students are not eligible to apply for B.Com (Accounts).
 

Faculty Rating
Overall the teachers are good and well trained. They take regular classes. The faculty of our college is not too strict but maintaining discipline is one of the most important things in this college. They keep reminding you to maintain the attendance (75%), which is compulsory to be eligible to write the examinations. Over all the faculty is supportive and helpful.
 

Placement Rating
The College has a placement cell but they are not able to assist the students to get good packages. Over all the placements of our college is average - below average . If you are just looking for placements then you may have to look for other options. There are Placements for Commerce, IT, BBA, and Vocational Courses but there are no placements for Arts, Humanities, and Natural Sciences Courses.
 

Hostel Rating
There is hostel facility available for boys. Usually the hostel facility is only available to the tribal students of the college. The hostel is only available for the students who reside outside Ranchi.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Campus has multiple blocks and classrooms. There are Smart Boards in each and every Class. There are water coolers which provide for drinking water facility in every floor. There are multiple washrooms separately for Boys and Girls. The College has 3 Canteens inside the campus. The College has a playground and two basketball courts. There is parking facility available for students (two wheelers). Overall the infrastructure is quite good.
 

Campus Rating
Overall the campus life is enjoyable and fun. One can make great memories with their friends and teachers in the college. There are many events organised by various departments of the college which keep the students engaged in various activities other than their core subject. There are many clubs like NSS and NCC in the college. The College also organises Xavier's Fest Annually.

    St. Xavier's College is well known all around India and that was one of the main reasons for me to Join this institution. The overall facility provided hear is quite nice and the faculties are also quite good. Since I am from Ranchi, Jharkhand, there are only a few well known colleges which are known for their facilities and the quality of education.
