St. Thomas' College of Engineering and Technology B.Tech Review By Dwipjyoti Sarkar

I took admission in this college in 2022, through WBJEE entrance exam. I took admission here in computer science and engineering branch. In my year closing cut-off of this CSE branch was closed at nearly 17000-18000 rank. I heard this college was quite good and also the transportation options to reach this college are also good for me.

In CSE you will learn many coding languages, data structure and algorithm, computer organisation, and many more subjects. You can take admission in this college, in this branch by securing a good rank through WBJEE or JEE mains. Besides, for 2nd year lateral entry you take admission here through JELET. In this current job scenario, software coding industry is still quite much good. You can earn 3 LPA to 10 LPA to 50 LPA to 1cr annually.

Faculties in our college are ok. I will say not too good or not too bad. Some are very helpful. If you have any issue in any topic and if you tell them then they try to clear your doubts as much as they can. Also many are pass out from jadavpur here. Currently our college recruits many new faculties as a teacher also.

Yes, our college has the on campus placement process. Many companies like Cognizant, Mindtree, and some others come every year in this college. Nearly 3.5 lakh to 4 lakh is the average package. Yes, Placement Cell tried that more students can get well placed in the companies.

No our college has no hostel facilities. Those students, whose home is too far from college they take PG. Many gents and ladies PG are there near our college.

Our college has a boy’s common room, a girl’s common room, a ground, a canteen, a Library, a badminton court, etc. Two TT table & two carom board in boys common room and one TT table in girls common room. As the seat is increasing in our college day by day, college authorities are also making many lab and theory classrooms also. Labs have many computers to teach during lab. So yes, it's ok.

Campus life is ok. If you have a nice friend circle then you can have a nice campus life also here. One farewell and one fresher party are organised in our college through our college students. But no cultural events where all college students will be gathered and some artists will be invited to perform, this type of any event are not organised in our college. No clubs are here. Yes, every year cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, and inter-department championship are organised through college authorities and a annual sports day is organised in a year where running, short put, high jump, long jump, etc. type of activities are done.
