IIT is IIT for a reason and unless you get into the institution, you will never understand why IITs are considered to be the best institutions across the country. The campus itself gets you motivated and the hype about IITs is not at all false. I joined IIT Bhubaneswar as a Research Fellow for Ph.D. They publish advertisements for PhDs twice a year. But, they recruit for Research through various projects. This recruitment for project scholars is based on the projects available and are mostly on contractual basis. You need to upload your resume along with your mark sheets by logging into their official website. Then, they will contact you according to their requirements.

I had applied for a position of Research fellow for project from DRDO. I was eligible as per the requirements of the post and thus mailed my CV and the details of my M.Tech project to the Professor who was in charge of the Project. He responded to my mail and I received an official mail from the Research and Development Department of Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar that I have been selected. Joining the Institute was one of the best decisions of my career as you really get to know the perks of research once you join the institute. They provide all the best facilities starting from Laboratories to instruments, and you will learn a lot in the process. You have to give it your best and stick to the time frame as they are very strict in that matter. But one thing I can guarantee that IITs unleash your potential and boost your capabilities.

The faculties at IITs are undoubtedly the best. They are highly qualified and are the best in their field. They encourage you to do your best and also listen to your ideas with all attention. They pay attention to all your doubts and address each of them with patience. They keep a track of your works and constantly encourage you to do better. You feel highly motivated under the correct guidance and that helps you to deliver your best.

The Training and Placement cell is also equally potent. The top companies always prefer IITs for placements and also offer very good packages as compared to what they offer to students of other institutions. Undoubtedly, IIT is a brand and you are bound to get more respect if you are associated with IITs. Also, they select the best students from the country. So, if you get into IIT, you will definitely get a very good job.

IIT Bhubaneswar hostel is very well planned and designed. The rooms are spacious and the campus has every necessity within its boundaries. They maintain optimum hygiene and clean the corridors every single day. The bathrooms are equally clean. The food is not great, yet it is manageable. The choice of food items is also good enough so that it can serve the diverse students coming from the entire country. You can play any game of your choice and there are enough options for your recreational activities. But, they follow the rules very strictly and you need to restrict to the entry and exit time strongly. But in spite of everything, you will enjoy your hostel life thoroughly at IIT Bhubaneswar.

The only field in which IIT Bhubaneswar lags behind is its infrastructure. The reason for this is the campus is not yet fully operational and construction work is still going in. Though, the necessary facilities, required numbers of classrooms, library, laboratories are already operational, the main issue is its connectivity. The commuting to IIT Bhubaneswar is very limited as it is situated at the extreme end of the city, in a very remote area. Also, within the campus, you need to have a means of transport for your own because the campus is very vast and the distance between the buildings is too much to walk and cover. Also, there are no proper mapping and labeling of roads so as to ease your search. It will take a few years more for the institute to function completely. Still, within the functional classrooms and laboratories, you have nothing to complain about. The laboratories are world class and the class rooms are equally good. The institute also has medical facilities inside its campus. Also, the campus is away from the city, offering you the best scenery, away from all the pollution and noise.

The campus life is very good and if you have interest in areas other than academics, you will get a very good chance to pursue your interests. The fests are one of a kind and students from all over the country come and participate here. The best thing about IIT Bhubaneswar is that everyone is good at their job, and does them very efficiently. This results in the smooth functioning of the institution.
