KJC is not known for PG courses as it is relatively new. If that’s the reason than one should look at various other sides of the college as well. Some strictness that you will see in most of the Bangalore colleges are visible in KJC as well. Uniform is must and so are the ids around your collar. To appear in the exams the attendance has to be over 80%. The autonomous status gives them a license to change the syllabus, or the exam dates, and the ratio of internal marks. Since the college is located slightly in a remote location, you won’t find many shops, restaurants, or theatre nearby and these are some of the major cons. Talking of the pros the college campus is full of life and has some good canteens inside that will please your hunger for sure. The CMI priests who has a lot of experience in running the educational institutes all across the country are the ones who are running this college and therefore the strictness and rules has to be bowed to.

Strictness for sure but with the kind of atmosphere that the college has and for PG students and talking of the course I was in PGPM for working executive there were more rules in place than the other courses. Previously it was told that a year’s experience is enough and ours was the last batch as post that 2 years work experience has been made mandatory to participate in this course offered by KJC. The course is designed well keeping things in mind and the selection is also based on the industry you have worked before. The professors are in abundance coming from different field of expertise and that made things easier working with them.

The professors are in abundance and our course had the maximum professors for sure. From E-commerce to banks, KJC’s work force had professors hired for our course who has worked in different industries. The table had everything to offer and we had a choice to pick and choose the subjects each semester. This made things easier as I chose IT security during the 2nd semester but then realized that I won’t be having a go at it any further and shifted to E-commerce subjects. The syllabus had the stories of numerous e-commerce giants success story and the course was more like a GK. For practices knowledge the professors from the same industry and this program offered by KJC is still undiscovered and therefore I would highly recommend to enroll in this course so that you can learn the things of your interest and also gain the knowledge on how the industry you want to join works.

If all the exercise were done the results had to come. I chose to learn the art of working with an E-Commerce company and Amazon was there to look after us. Not just Amazon but all the companies who are trying to get a foothold in E-commerce were present at the campus. IKEA which is among the top 10 industry of the world also was at the campus to get some of the finest brains who can get them established. IT is a no brainer when it comes to placements in Bangalore and therefore all the IT and some start-ups like Netmeds and Abhi Bus were among the top recruiters. The average placement was around Rs. 7-8 lakhs. The package was low but we were taught enough skills at the college to raise the bar and since I am in touch with quite a few of them they all have achieved higher ranks in industry in just 2 years after joining.

There is no hostel facility provided by KJC and students coming from different places have to make the arrangements on their own.

The college is small but certainly the most beautiful one. The lush green garden and all the three blocks that are shining as they are painted every alternate year. The classrooms are contemporary and one of the best benches for seating. The building is of 4 floors and therefore the lift facility is provided as our classes were held on 3rd floor. Each block has a library of its own with e-books facility that can be accessed from anywhere. The recreation room or the indoor sporting room is there in the UG block and irrespective of the courses; you can have a shot at it. There are 2 cafeterias, one in the UG block and one in MBA block. Both the cafeteria served different variety of food as one was south Indian food oriented cafeteria while one was a multi-cuisine. A stationery shop and a Xerox center is available in the campus. A sports ground would have complete the infrastructure but sadly there’s none.

The campus was a ball of fire. Academics was not the only thing that is served at KJC, you can be a part of various societies as well. The events and fests are less from other Bengaluru colleges. International visitors makes visit every year to understand the lifestyle of students at the college. The Malyali flavour is also served in abundance as most of the students and teachers are Mallu at the campus.
