IMS Unison University BBA Review By Deeksha Chopra

Overall, the IMS Unison University is good if you are looking for good studies but don't expect much for placements. The Registration process is pretty much simple followed by an Application form. Be ready with the fees for the 1st semester and 1-year hostel (in case you avail of this facility) as this is the upfront payment that needs to be made on the first day of admission itself. Overall, the management of the college is good, security is fully inculcated at the core parts of the college.

I got myself enrolled for the BBA- Bachelor of Business Administration Programme. The eligibility criteria to join this program is pretty much simple which is based on school merit marks and a small interview. You just need to have 60% marks in your 10th & 12th standards to meet the eligibility criteria. However, if you have somewhere between 40% to 59% marks in your high school, then based on the multiple entrance examinations scores like MAT, CAT, etc, your profile can be still considered. Although the institute doesn't provide any entrance exam of their own for this program. Apart from this, you will have to undergo one quick introduction round, which is very basic -99% of students can clear that. In this round, they will ask your strengths, weaknesses, introduction, career goals, why the BBA program? etc. I joined this course because I aspire to become a financial analyst. All the subcategory topics I studied under the finance domain were as per my expectation, they gave me real-time exposures and helped in getting a good job as well.

IMS University consists of 50+ faculties overall ranging across all types of programs offered to the students. Specifically, for my course which is BBA - We had more than 20+ faculties for all the specializations like HR, Finance, Marketing, etc. To be honest, I have a deep sense of satisfaction with all the facilities that taught me. They are smart, active, punctual in classes. Moreover, they all carry different years of experience but on average they have 7 to 8+ years of experience. These faculties are specialized in various domains, 90% of these faculties have completed their PhDs. They are a pro when it comes to teaching as their lectures are based on real-time examples. This way we got ready for work in the various industries not only in the specialized sectors but all. Overall, they are not partial, keep their eye on every student, and teach well!

The placement of the institute is average, there was no special preparation done as if how to crack the interviews. The big drawback I felt is that there were no companies as such coming down for the finance background students. 98% of companies that came were either for the marketing students or the sales, the rest 2% was for other specializations. The top companies that visited during my batch were Credits Solutions Private Limited, Planet Spark, Paytm, etc. The highest package went for the marketing & sales students that were around 4,00,000/- per annum during my batch by Paytm. The average package went around 2,00,000/- per annum. There were not many students that got placed. Only 20% of the students got placed.

The IMS University consists of a separate hostel for boys and girls. The girl's hostel is the only one which has got 7 to 11 apartments on one floor with a total of 5 floors. Each apartment consists of 3 rooms. The inside of the hostel rooms is good, semi-furnished with the basic requirements. The only struggle I faced is with the geyser. They don't let using the geyser until it's October which further sometimes gets dragged till November. So it's very difficult to adjust to cold water in September and October times as it's very chilly there. I paid around Rs. 1,30,000/- overall fees for the hostel for one year which consists of the food expenses too. There is utility inside the girl's hostels for the basic daily use items. To be honest, I would rate the hostel food as 2/5. But sometimes it's good and most of the time it's pathetic to eat. We also have a garden area inside the girl's hostel where we can stay till 10 pm. As far security is concerned, it is good.

The IMS University isn't very big area-wise. There were four buildings in total during my time. Now, I guess, the campus area is expanding. These buildings are well furnished in and out. The washrooms are hygienic, classrooms are also clean. There is a separate library common for boys and girls and its timings are from 9 am till 8 pm. The auditorium is big enough for adjusting 150+ students at a time. Some of the main rooms like teachers desk or staff rooms have ac facilities. There is also a medical hospital common for boys and girls. For girls, if any emergency occurs during the nighttime, then the warden used to go along with us as a matter of safety. With regards to the eatables, the campus has a cafeteria with limited items but there are food trucks that come daily to the university between - 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. which as far as I remember consists of all the baked eatable items.

The campus life of the IMS university is average. The students get exposure to the Entrepreneurship seminars, counseling sessions by renowned personalities and business owners. There are also other activities like Face painting, Lamhe- competition which includes bands, Singing, solo/group dances, inter-college competitions, celebrities visits, etc. There is only one plane field within the campus where all the activities are carried, although the campus doesn't have any big gardens to sit.
