Jadavpur University, Kolkata - My thoughts

Overall Rating
Jadavpur University is truly a gem and many of the students don't know about this college. This college has bets Return on Investment in the entire country for engineering. It gives competition to the old IITs for engineering. It's placements are of top notch and the most important fact is that it's fees is very less so as each and every student can afford it
 

Academics Rating
For entrance in Jadavpur University for engineering courses, one has to give the WBJEE examination. In order to get Jadavpur one must secure a very good rank like under 1000 if you are from outside West Bengal or under 3000 if you are from West Bengal state. The students from the state of West Bengal get reservation in the college as it's a state government college.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members are of top notch quality. Each faculty member is well versed in their respective fields. Almost every faculty is a Ph.D in their respective subject. Jadavpur is also famous because of the numerous research work done by its faculty members. Many faculty have their research work published. They teach in a very efficient manner.
 

Placement Rating
The placements are very good. The Placement Cell is present which helps the students in getting placed . Top companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft are the companies where our alumni work currently. Students also get placed abroad.
 

Hostel Rating
Hostels are available in the university but due to its limited size, hostels are not allotted to everyone. It's given on the basis of an interview. Students with economically weak background and students coming from very far place from Kolkata are generally given hostels.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Infrastructure is decent enough but it can be improved a little. The labs and the classrooms are very good, equipped with world class facilities but the student’s amenities center, the gyms, and common playing room can be improved little bit. The playgrounds are maintained very well as they are also shared by the CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal).
 

Campus Rating
Overall the campus life is good. Fests are held very frequently in the campus, as there are 3 groups, one for the engineering, one for the arts, and one for the science students and the best part is that everyone is allowed to go in these fests without any restriction. There are many clubs also like the debating club, the photography club, the drama club, etc.

    Our university is a tier 1 state public university with NIRF 2024 rank 12th in Engineering Category. Placement is very good (up to 100%) in some departments like Civil, Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, etc. Overall placement was 95% last year.     The overall experience of the university is superb. I'll describe each aspect in the later section but here let me give an outline of my experience. Jadavpur University offers the best ROI in India, the fees is just 2400 and getting an average placement of 10 LPA (20 LPA for CSE). There's no 75% attendance policy, 45-50% is enough.     Jadavpur University is a well reputed university located in the main city of Kolkata. With NIRF ranking of 12 in Engineering, 9 in Universities and 17 in overall category as of 2024, it is certainly one of the best universities in India.     Jadavpur University is a State University placed in Kolkata, West Bengal. The university is very good and is run by alumnus’ funding; that’s why the fee structure of the curriculum is very minimal. For getting admission in this university, you have to score good in WBJEE.     Jadavpur University is highly rated in NIRF ranking. Other than that I had taken a look at the faculty of Economics and came to know that almost every teacher had a PhD degree from a renowned university.
