Kristu Jayanti College B.Com Review By Narpat Rathore

I am an ex-student of Kristu Jayanti and therefore will give the most honest review about the college. The college is managed by the father of CMI and they are also the ones that run the Christ University. Kristu Jayanti is relatively new and has gained the status of Autonomous college. I did my B. Com from there which is affiliated to North Bengaluru University. The college is strict and rather more than Christ in a sense that the Uniform is compulsory and you will not be excused for keeping ID cards in pocket. It has to be around your neck always while in the campus. The college too be honest is for the nerds because studies are too strict here. The infrastructure of the college is great and has adopted all the modern techniques. However, if you want to enjoy your time then KJC is not meant for you. The campus is good and the faculty members are great, the library and the playground are all top class.

The college without a doubt is one of the strictest colleges you will find. Not just for Uniform and I-card but also for attendance. We were at least fortunate that we fall under the North Bengaluru University and not under the deemed one. KJC has been strict but the system that they have incorporated is adept in learning. Bangalore is known for private colleges and KJC is one of the best. The modern classroom where teaching was done through projector was a new experience. The college made sure that we have at least 2 exams before the University exams and the students who failed in those exams were called for extra classes and that is why the result of KJC is over 90% in B. Com.

Forget about the degrees but for B.Com I think we had some 15 main professors and equal number of assistant professors. On some subjects both the faculty used to teach to make sure that we have no doubts left. Since the classes were regular we were always on schedule and thanks to our professors who took extra care of the students who were slow learners. The faculty members were strict and any late in submissions was not tolerated at all.

This is a quality thing about KJC as the placements are not guaranteed to all but maximum students do get placed. The placement cell is agile and makes sure that the college students earn a reputed job. Companies like IT and banks visit the KJC campus and take students without much of a fuss. The placement that B. Com students got are in the range of Rs. 3-4 lakhs. I didn’t apply as I had planned for further studies but for the students who need work-experience before they go for higher studies Kristu Jayanti’s B. Com is the right course for them.

There is no hostel facility provided by the college but Bangalore has many Paying guests and private boys and girls hostels. One can consider them for their stay as you will find a lot of your classmates in search of a flat-mate.

The campus is not large but is clean and beautiful. There are 3 buildings in all out of which one is MBA block. The garden at the front is lush green and so is the rest of the campus. Each block has their own cafeteria that boasts a wide menu. In all the campus have 8-10 canteens and one North Indian canteen is also there as North Indians have made this college their destination. The classrooms are huge and with equipment’s. The UG block is a 4 floor building and each floor has girls and boys washrooms and water coolers. The building also has a lift facility. Also the medical facility is available in each block. In sporting facilities the college has a basketball court and 2 badminton courts. The only concern is that if you compare KJC with other private colleges the campus is small but admirable.

Daily 7-8 hours were spent on the campus and the college has other activities but the long classes made sure that we are left with no time for them. Some students whom I would say genius organized all the events as they were held every month and sometimes twice a month. It was all done by students but I never participated apart from being a part of college’s social club that went on for a campaign of save water. Every year Yoga day is celebrated with enthusiasm and all the students are asked to participate. The Yoga experts are called and a day full of Yoga where simple postures were taught so that we can do them on daily basis. Guest lectures from domestic and international guests were frequent. The college has made sure that students who come to their college becomes serious about their life goals and work hard to achieve them. If you are serious and someone who wants to study hard should join this college but if you have other priorities in life better stay away. The college is also known as Kerala of Bangalore as 70% students in the college are from Kerala.
